Hi Guys

Just wanted to introduce myself

My name is Rick
I have gone by the screen name of "V84x4" since internet was invented
You can google me (V84x4) and find all types of videos from way back when

Anyway...............

I have been a MAD/TWIN FORCE Freak since the late 80's and wanted to share some of my projects

First off is my Baby
It's a New Era & SuperShafty.com build that I have about 70 hrs in polishing
Im running twin TEKIN PRO4 3300KV Motors with Twin TEKIN RX8's
I moded the top shaft to use a Robinson Racing Steel Slipper
and turned down 8 KYOSHO Velvet coated shocks
Spools in both axles and OFNA CVD's

Yes its a "Shelf Queen" but I take it out every once in a while :D

Next is my BYB (Back Yard Basher)
Also built using SuperShafty.com stuff
I have had it clocked at 58mph by a local COP
Im pushing 6S through a TEKIN T8 1950KV & RX8 ESC

I have so many TF Projects..............just tooooo many to show, but here's a few

Working on a Tractor Pull Rig right now........ ;)

I just wanted to introduce myself and offer my help in any way

Best Regards to all V84x4

Great collection of Force Trucks and Thanks for carrying the parts we need for our Trucks just received my axle parts yesterday:D
Question V84X4, How do we keep swing shafts or dogbones from popping out of front axles while crawling and bashing? I was thinking of limiting the "throw" of the servo saver and adjusting transmitter to a little less steering but not sure if these will do.

Thanks Guys

We have many more and exciting parts coming soon so stay tuned :cool

As far as DB's popping out:

I have always used "Fuel Line" from nitro trucks
I normally cut a 1/8"th to a 1/4" peices and place them in the output shafts
in the Diff on both sides
This pushes the DB more towards the Wheel Shafts and eliminates DB's Poping out
However, this also will tend to limit your steering
So its best to cut and use "Fuel Line" in both the Drive cups & Wheel Shafts

You will have to experiment cutting different size pieces till you get it right.
Too tight will cause binding too loose will fall out
General rule of thumb is 1/8th" in both sides and go from there

Hope this helps

Best Regards V8

Those Axles should be available on SuperShafty.com at the end of the month....(or around there)

I have allways had a TF or MF in my colection

It's the kind of truck you can bring to the beach or camping,
bash the **** out of it and draw a crowd of people for hours :cool

Oh....did I mention chase the Dog around the back yard .........lol

The 'Force with the bug body is visually stunning. I love the sleakness of it. I can't wait to see the new parts you come out with. I've been on your site a few times checking stuff out. Haven't bought anything yet, because nothing on my truck has broke real bad yet.

always looking to improve the steering on the TF- what would you change from a stock setup?

Plus I saw in the top post that your axles had spools and ofna cvd's... what does this do, around how much will that conversion cost and what are the part numbers?

I currently am working on one scale monster truck that uses the TF transmission... and another scale monster truck project that uses the stock axles. I know I already have questions, if you don't mind I would like to send you a couple questions....

This is the project with the transmission... the trouble I am running into is that I need a pinion gear that will fit a normal sized motor 540 can (the big huge ones, mamba monster, hit the links and I don't want to drop the transmission lower)... not sure of the shaft mm (3mm ???)- I know that the stock 5mm pinion is too big. Seems like all MOD1 pinions are for 5mm shafts- am I missing something? I don't want to change the spur gear but will if I need too.

Here's my second project... I haven't touched it so I haven't run into problems yet but I am sure I will- custom jobs seem to do that.

Thanks again for stopping by and signing up... always helpful when guys have real experience!

4 links

Those 4 links are really nice, but I cannot find them. I really want a 4 link suspension, this really is an awesome truck. Who makes them, and what else would I need to bolt up to a stock truck?

Budha, the Mod1 pinions for the Ground Pounder are for 3mm, CPE sells them.

Budhatrain.........

Your Trucks are nothing but stunning pieces of art !!!

I have High Steer knuckles coming out soon that will give you unlimited steering..........

Here are the Part Numbers for the OFNA CVD's

"Titan" Long shaft "BEEFCAKE" Part number #40274
Short Side OFNA "Buggy" part #36052
They run around $50 a pair

Spools (or Lockers) lock up your diff and give you Posi Traction $40 each from SuperShafty.com
Not so good for low speed steering as Locker will "Push" your truck around cornners

As far as your Spur/Pinion problem:
You can run the BIG MOD1 Pinion on a 540 motor
you just need to buy the Robinson Racing 3.2mm to 5mm Sleave

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those 4 links are really nice, but I cannot find them. I really want a 4 link suspension, this really is an awesome truck. Who makes them, and what else would I need to bolt up to a stock truck?

vwhed1979:

There are several thing you can do and buy to convert your "STOCK" TF into a 4 link

Look at some of my tutorial videos on supershafty.com

You will need to do a Center upper link conversion (Shark Fin) of some kind
you can use the Stock Swing Arms as your Lower Link conection

OR

You can buy the "New Era" 4 Link conversion I sell on my site
and the "New Era" Center Skid that allow you to hook everything together to your stock TF

Then you will need to make your custom length Links or I could make them for you
3/4" Delrin is cheep and works great but you can also make them from aluminum if you
have to tools to do it

I will be selling a complete kit soon.....stay tuned

LMK

Hope this helps guys

My Email is [email protected]
if you need it
