K30 HL project idea, opinions wanted

I may have a chance to get an HL for Christmas. Here is my idea list:

Nearly stock HL. Remove the rear shocks. Use a 35T lathe motor with an XL-1 and a 4 cell 3300 pack to simulate the 6.2 N/A diesel. A Clod body with K30 badges from a member on RCC. A scratchbuilt flatbed with a gooseneck ball for a distant future possible project. Modify a set of Tamiya rig wheels to be 1.9's, as explained on Scale 4X4. Modify the transmission cover and motor mount, as explained on scale 4X4 to allow use of a brusier interior. Use a modded TQ-3. Make the large, hidious, 80's era trailer mirrors. Get a hitch reciver and ball hitch. Make a couple CB antennae from large gee-tar (hehe) string. Bullhead stacks, and a U.S. style rear light panel for rigs from PMD. Also use RAM or Tamiya lights for head and tail/brake lights.

Just want to know your opinions, and any advise?

Thanks.

Sounds good to me, but I think you'll need to figure out a way to put rear shocks on to keep with the scale look.

for the 70's to 80's ''west coast mirrors'' get either mirrors from the tamiya mercedes 1838? or king hauler big rigs they'll look close.

As for your rear shocks, use big rig shocks on the back and leave the shock towers off.

As for the mirrors, I was thinking of the ones that just mount on the three points on the door. I'm starting to consider the west coast mirrors now too, they'd look kinda cool.

As for the shocks, it should do fine without. How much would the rig shocks hurt articulation? I'd like to be able to take it to local scale meets, and not be totally crushed.

I really think I'd rather have no shocks. Not very noticable really. Most full scale ones are mounted inside the frame rails and out of view anyways. Any ideas on how well the rig light kit would work?

I could upgrade the 1:1 for a little more $$. Complete new exhaust, boost and pyro guages, and mechanical wastegate controller on the turbo. Just a little more than an HL.
