Just my Clod, fresh build outta the box

I'm still waiting for my ESP Hobby order to show up, and in the meanwhile I've been building a Tamiya TRF201 2wd buggy for trying my hand at racing. That doesn't mean the Clod isn't getting some love too! I just got my Tamiya Torque Tuned Motors in the mail today for installation in the Clod. I've been impressed with the speed of the silvercans to tell you the truth. These motors are a step in between the silvercans and the sport tuned motors and give better speed than stock along with better torque than both the sport tuned and the stock motors. Sounds like a good deal to me.

After I break them in I'll try to get a comparison vid up on YouTube or something with gps measuring the top speeds. Be a little bit though, I still have some buggy work to do and I need to get my Kyosho Blizzard looked over for winter:cool

Well, my parts arrived a bit ago. I haven't posted anything about it because I've been trying to make the parts work. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Suspension stabilizers= Not compatible with anti rotation brackets. Makes it pretty worthless.

ESP Ball bearing steering kit= Crappy ball bearings. Improperly machined (too short, not all the parts can fit), holes in wrong locations.

Steering links= doesn't include links from the stock servo location to the servo savers, improperly drilled locations for holes, require using stock "blue" end links, loosen up on their own even after using loctite.

ESP chassis brace= good. no complaints.

ESP bumpers= also good, minimally drilled in the wrong spots so that the bumpers stick out more on one side, barely noticeable.

Skid plates= good, had to bend 'em to make 'em fit, sturdy.

About $100 worth of parts or so that turned out to be un-useable crap. I'd have to recommend shopping elsewhere. Long and short of it is I'm going to order some parts from elsewhere to get the clod in running condition and ready for snow season with some sturdy upgrades. Guess nostalgia ain't everything.
