I just got the email, my new in box Clod is in the mail!

Can't wait for it to arrive!!!

I'm sure this has been asked 1000 times, but where should I begin as far as upgrades go.

It'll mostly be for just bashing around in the back yard, but I'd like to make it as bulletproof as possible.

All assistance is greatly appreciated!

HUGE smiles on my dial ATM!!! :D :D :D

The very first upgrade should be a ball-bearing kit. Then get an aftermarket servo mount. Defiance Racing(Devastator) makes a sweet vertical servo mount. The servo mount will eliminate the slop, and dramtically improve your steering. Welcome to Clod-o-mania!!

Then pick up a sidewinder/SV2 ESC so you can shove 11 volts down the silvercan throats for some speed. Get some Robinson Racing 13t 32p pinions while your at it the stock ones wear faster than John Forces rear tires.

Welcome to the addiction...I started around this time last year and im hooked lol...I agree with Will and Supreme, bearings and new servo mount for the steering setup, you can also lockout the rear steering, I would consider going from 8 shocks to 4 good ones and it should handle great....

All these guys on here helped me out and answered all my dumb questions lol so dont be afraid to ask anything...:D

I run associated 1.02 shocks on my race TTR trucks, Aluminum axle tubes, I run integy and hot racing, I like the integy ones becuase they have the bottom hole pre drilled. plastic gears will work as long as your not to hard on the gas on landings, i run brushed motors in all of my trucks expect one, guess i missed the boat for the brushless motors, have had about ZERO success with them myself in clodbusters haha. However i race as a hobby about every other month now, however if I was you i'd look into brushless as other had suggested.

My brushless CPE truck

CPE Sniper Pro
Associated shocks(not sure on length)
Old castle 4600 combo x2
Deans plugs
Integy Axle Tubes
Ball Bearings
spektrum reciver
ofna servo savers
ZRP servo mount
rc4wd rumbles.

Is there a good shock setup that utilises 2 shocks per wheel?

I do like how it looks that way,a bit more realistic IOM.

Also, how do the WK Bounty Hunter etc and the Traxxas MJ bodies fit on these things?

Im sure there are sum shocks out there that would work..sum other guys might chime in...as for the WK and MJ bodies they are really small and wouldnt fit right on a clod.

Are there any options for a Bounty Hunter styled Ford Expedition body?

Or anything like a Grave Digger type of shell?

I've seen plenty of 1/10th shells at a few companies sites and there are tons (of truck shells) to choose from.

And lots that I like, more than my budget can handle atm. :)

I just haven't seen much that isn't a traditional truck style.

Just to clarify... (please excuse my numptyness), but HPI do a bounty hunter for the WK and a different 1/10th size bounty hunter shell?

Or is is the same shell that goes on the WK just sold seperately?

Thanks mate!

You'd think they'd make that info more easily identifiable/understandable on their (HPI's) website.

Super ClodBuster arrived today!!!

YEAH BABY!!!

Seriously though, are there any tips I need to know about building this thing and any special tools required?

Anything you can share to help me avoid any of the noob traps and pitfalls of building RC models?

Also, any recommendations for radio gear/batteries etc?

Thanks guys, I'm keen to get stuck into it!

And by ALL means, those metal axle braces...Make sure they line up PERFECTLY! You will probably have to eyeball them a few times, and tweak them just right with pliers. If they are not perfect, they can, and probably will cause some binding issues in the differential..I learned that tip on here. These guys are GREAT!...Mike
