Integy "Crawler" Chassis

After I took my Zilla 2 camping I got it home and started to clean it and noticed I bent one of the upper rails pretty bad and broke a screw head off so I decided it was time for a new chassis. I wanted something inexpensive and something that was short wheelbase. I looked at the CPE SWB Predator that comes with the Vaterra lower links then I saw this
Integy EVO Rock Crawler Chassis on sale for $70 for a pretty much complete chassis kit. I figured since Integy is almost always junk I'd just be using the chassis plates but I was OK with that since it's only $70 and the plates are graphite (looks like carbon fiber, IDK if it is the same thing or not) and bonus they look like Tamiya TXT option plates.

When I got it I was a little disappointed that they look like TXT plate but are smaller.

I didn't use the kit 4 link bars they would have given a huge wheelbase. I used the 4 link I had on my SWB zilla 2. I did use the Integy steering links, upper link mounts, lower shock mounts (link mounted) and cross braces for the TVPs. I did not use the shocks they seem super cheesy.

I had a bunch of conical washers and the Screw Loose hex hardware set so I was able to build it to my liking. The kit did not come with ANY instructions but I've built maybe a dozen Clods so I didn't need them. I did however decide to build it differently then Integy intended. I'm going to put side velco body mounts, make my own electronics tray, I used some shock stand offs I already had...

Here are the pics. I really like how it turned out.

Hey !
Kenny if you never said it was integy I would not have known it. Looks good, and simple enough that there's less to bust up in those ooopsie moments. LOL

Thanks guys! Yeah pretty simple TVP setup I used 3" Traxxas front shocks. The side plates themselves are pretty nice. The cross braces have a funky "lumpy" look to them I wish they had just made them smooth but whatever for $70 I can't complain!

I been stewing on that same set for awhile but not at 140 or whatever it was at the time.

I thought the same and was thinking if I could get ahold of the tvp's I would use them becuase they look like the txt exreme racing chassis plates wich are probably my favorite tvp look but I am never going to pay 99 for two bare plates either no matter what there made of.

I still would like to do one with the xtreme racing graphite txt plates and clod axles but until they come down I will pass.

I am glad to see one setup as a mt setup though it looks good man.

That chassis is sick!! I'm gonna build a mini-TXT with WK axles!! Screw you Tamiya!! Kenny, your Clod is lookin' good. Can you get a shot of a WK chassis next to it or tell me if they're about the same size?? I may end up getting 2 of these.

MT is the only way to go i got out of crawlers years ago but when i saw the design of these plates i knew they would make a better MT than crawler. Yesd the xtreme cf plates are awesome too

Thanks man ill get a comarison pic tomorrow but i think they are close in size, the integy a little longer and way wider like twice as wide if you use the supplied cross braces

Bill, the cross braces are 4".

Supreme, to my surprise the Integy chassis is pretty much the same size as the stock WK chassis. In fact the stock WK chassis is a tiny bit longer. Check it out:

Looks great, Kenny.
I agree with Supreme, that would make a great base for a wk.

I think you guys are right. To use a WK trans you'd have to make a mounting plate maybe. The holes definitely don't line up. Maybe you could drill new holes. It sorta looks like it has holes for a txt trans but I don't know for sure I'm just going off memory

I made some velcro body mounts out of washers today they came out decent. I just need some kind of battery cups and a receiver and I'm set.

do you think the WK chassis would make a good base for a clod? i have an original clod with a cracked chassis.

not sure if these would help but this is what I use for my wk stand off's throughout the chassis plus if I need to add some links in for something else like cantilever's there all over the chassis lol.

here is a trans mount that should be able to give you something to drill on to match up with the exsisting hole by drilling into where it is needed.

may not help you at all but thught I would throw that out there as some idea's that may help :p
