I'm DONE with Ebay.

I sold the Tremor on Ebay. Sold for a little less than I'd hoped but more than the best offer I got here. Anyway, when I listed the Ebay auction, it did not give me an option to set a reserve. I was apprehensive about listing a big ticket item but I left it to faith and listed it. A collector out of OR bought the truck and sent payment promptly. I just logged into Paypal to verify the transaction, and Paypal states:

While You establish a successful eBay sales history, you may not have access to your money for up to 21 days. You may get it sooner, but it may take longer if your buyer reports a problem with the sale.
So basically I have to ship the item off, hope the buyer doesn't complain and trust eBay. I will never fully trust eBay since they screwed me on a tire deal years ago. Bought a used set of tires from a guy, he listed it poorly so there were not many bidders. I won the auction and waited two weeks, never heard from the seller. Filed the dispute with Paypal, and seller entered tracking numbers for three different sized packages shipping from different locations and going to different destinations (none of which were mine) and Paypal told me "the seller provided tracking information so he has fulfilled the transaction." I didn't use eBay/Paypal for almost two years after that.

A couple of years ago I opened up a new eBay account under the same screen name that I use on all RC related sites figuring it would be easier for me to sell my RC stuff if people knew it was me. I hardly ever used the account until late last year when I started selling off a bunch of my stuff. Oddly when I started I got the money right away but then after about the third sale they started holding it. I figured "Okay, I'll just ride it out until it stops." After 15 positive feedbacks as a seller and 30 positive overall for buying and selling they still are with holding funds. I quit using the account and switched back over to my original eBay ID.

What really ticked me off is after a couple of big sales eBay still took the fees from my paypal account before the funds cleared.

I've never had an issue. I had that waiting period at first but after that I get my money instantly.

ebay, or paypal they both are not ''friendly'' but big ticket items sell better with them even if you do feel violated after seeing the fees they charge

A little off topic.....But since the fees include shipping price now I wonder how people are still listing things at $.99. I mean if it sells at that price and you have to pay $10+ for shipping and 3% in paypal fees, you'd be in the hole......

Sorry to hear that...I sell a lot on eBay and have not had that hold for a long time .
If I sell anything big or small I get funded right away , and also I've never had an issue with a reserve price if I needed it

dont worry for the 21 days waiting, if the buyer receive your item in 10 days, then i will leave a good feedback and automaticelly your $$$ will be available on your paypal account.

until your selling 25 article, ebay will freeze your money....

It depends, if you have tracking and input it in eBay the time shortens. Feedback no longer makes a difference if you don't have tracking on it. So for international sales, since USPS doesn't provide tracking, I had to wait the full 21 days even though the buyer received the item in one week and left feedback. And when the time does shorten the payment isn't immediate, it's usually 2-3 days after you receive notification that the funds will be released.

I won't even look at an auction that has a reserve price listed. Just start the bidding at whatever your "reserve" is and do it that way.

I'm the same way Brett. Why start bidding at .99 if you won't take less than 250 it's silly.

Sorry to hear the trouble. I never had that message, I've sold quite a few things on the "Bay" and never had that problem.
