HUGE ! Breaking Monster Truck News (traxxas Monster Jam trucks)

So the hot setup is going to be to get the 5x11mm bearing carriers and bearings for this truck right off the bat, huh? Plus it looks like only the Digger gets the black parts, the rest look to have the standard grey parts.

The XL-5 trucks have had 5x11mm carriers since the vxl's came out - only bearings are needed for the conversion now.

I see, so it has 5x11mm carriers, just loaded with bushings... I guess that makes sense. Is the tranny loaded with bearings? I would hope so...

Tranny still has bearings - I'm not sure why TRX can't dish out the $2 for 8 more bearings, but I guess it's their choice in what they produce. It's something I've been trying to figure out for years but have given up on it since there's no sense to it!

I extended my wheely king to the stampede wheelbase using all stock parts... added the Digger body, painted the frame green, and am adding the Traxxas monster jam front tires both front and rear, and it looks AMAZING!! Painted the inside of the rims satin black, and left the beadlock ring chrome.

I also ordered a Stampede 4x4 chassis, and I'm going to put my remaining 4 front Monster Jam tires on that to see how they look... Will add pics soon...

The Digger 'King looks AWESOME!! Also added some red led headlights and a Pirate Flag...

Obviously mounted too high since its sitting on the body mounts, but I think they look kinda sweet on there. I am kind of partial to shorter looking bodies on my chassis though and I think Im in the minority there.

I think I may rock a MaxD body on that truck once they become available.

^ I have 3 of the 4 MJ bodies and so far the Max D has the most potential to look good on a clod or 1/10th truck

i agree that the Max D body will look the best on a clod out of these traxxas bodies.... the grave digger is way too short, but that Max D will work especially with a short wheel base

I got some chassis/suspension parts from one of these trucks and I am disappointed. The quality control on them is not what I'm used to seeing. The parts all have excess flashing and the fit on the arm to arm mount is rough. I had to disassemble everything and trim flashing off on just about every part. Did they cut costs on quality control to rush more of them out the door faster, perhaps?

On a WK it would be perfect IMO. Even if the wheelbase was extended a few inches it would still be a great match.

Like I said before Im quite partial to the look and feel of shorter bodies on clods, so Im a big fan of the way both of these bodies fit on my trucks. Just not huge on running replica bodies on my race rigs. I would kill for a clear version of any of these bodies but thats one thing I know we will never see with them being screen printed.

I think perhaps a T-Maxx size body would fit the bill, of what you're looking for. I have a body of that size, on my GP at the moment. If your race trucks
are clodbusters, and are of longer then stock wheelbase, I think this size body would be a good fit for your trucks.

Bodies are too high. You can see too much or all of the suspension. Looks like their Alien. Just my opinion.

I went to my LHS this morning. I saw Digger, Max D, and Monster Mutt on display in a glass case. Detail work is great, but the trucks are sooo little. The tires could almost fit Inside a Clodbuster wheel.

I think larger tires like the pro-line mashers would help the truck look better.

Your exagerating Brian :laugh The MJ tires would be very close if not same height to mashers, and they are not that much smaller in height compared to clod tires. Width yes, but they are fairly tall.
