has to be something wrong ive ran my trucks on 4s with no problems still using the same gears after 2years down the road. im gonna guess anything from something is faulty or you may have a bent axle shaft too thatd mess some stuff up. i have never had a clod gears do that to me in the 4-5 years ive had clods

which cpe chassis is that?
"CPE flashback" if im not mistaken

looking at the last pic more. that center shaft in the diff dosent look right its got a weird end to it. all the shafts that ive seen go through the diff gear are nice and smooth and chrome.

It's the flashback chassis.

Tad is going to check the gear boxes out for me this week.

Even on 2s it was grinding

Tad has my gear boxes.

Said the brass hexes were short and or the aluminum axle tubes caused it. Making spacers to correct the problem

Guess I'm not going to set it on fire!

yea thats what i was kinda thinking it had something to do with the diff giving a little bit.(thats why i pointed out that middle pin looks weird to me)

The pin is fine. Just to much clearance allowing two side gears to move away from the three spider gears causing them to slip then strip.

Got them back today.

Tad has proven there are great people still left in this seriously deteriorating world.

I am now off to rc4wd to blow some money

Thanks again Tad

All clicking is gone. Been messing around on 2s.

4 wheel steering is rather hard to control.

Ordered cpe bta steering and a rear lockout.

Is 2s the norm? Or should I just use 3s and bee happy

Swapped on the new proline wheels and a new set of destroyers too

I run 2s in all of mine but I am running faster motors than you. More power equals more breakage. If you are happy with how it runs stay with 2s you will replace less parts for sure.

Glad it is working for you now

LOL like I said I have never ran motors that slow. If you ever step up in motor the 2s will be plenty.

When I ran brushed motors they were 10 turn normally. Now that I run brushless I run 5.5 turn.
