the chassis is just about finished, I got the brushless in today so I went to larry's and got some of the final stuff like Y harnesses and servos spent the night fabricating mounts and hardware

and took it out for it's maiden voyage

notice the immitation dual servo steering, the long link is only there for a short while, after I trim the steering stops it's coming off.

oh and it performed REALLY well, I love the speed. I havent glued the tires and one tire is off the bead because I dont have wideners and it would hit the servo mount. oh and I was so excited I almost drove out in front of a car (thanks to the driving skills of that driver BTW for avoiding my truck)

haha as soon as I seen the first post with the arrow links I knew exactly what they were. Look like easton XX75 to me! :)

yeah I only buy eastons, but I honestly didnt care which.

the damn inserts were kinda pricey

and I stripped out the servos over the weekend and popped a link apart and had all sorts of handling issues due to the shock mounts moving around

top speed, 19.6 mph with 7.2V, I want to try 14.4V

You ain't kidding. I only built one truck with links that way and then stopped. By the time you get the long set screws, rod ends and arrows you are in it for a pretty penny!

actually if I hadnt bought twice as many arrows as I needed, I would have still been cheaper than machined links.

the cheapest option I could have chosen was home drilled and tapped 1/4" rod, but as you saw on my TLT, I cant make straight links that way.

BTW i didnt use long set screws, it's cheaper to get threaded 8-32 rod and cut to length

so.. after a year and a half of unemployment and them time settling into the new job and recovering my bank accounts I have decided to revisit this project.

now I have found that my idea of making decals isn;t going to work as I had planned. I might still investigate vynal printed decals from a sign shop or maybe even other avery printer products, but the main boy art I'll probably have to send out to a painter

I also need to rework my steering setup and it was way too flexible and constantly threw teeth, but I am keeping the dual servo setup because when it worked it worked WAY too well not to keep

the links are another issue, I need to tweak them size wise and figure out a better way of securing the insert inside the tube, but sine I have already invested in them, they're staying!

I might rebuild the chassis from scratch or tweak the one I made, I havent decided, but I love the diamond plate, and that isnt changing

I also have a new set of tweaked racing wideners I want to put on this, but I might need new wheels as my first set dont seem to have come out balanced, but that'll wait till toward the end.

I also found a track that's on my block! I didnt even know it was there. they have open racing 24/7, you can just drop by and run.

How do you make a clod with dual servo steering? I noticed it on the front of your truck. Is there a pre built units you can buy?
