Great news, another re-release!

Tamiya Website said:
# Triangular wheel hubs further enhance the buggy's unique look.
Does this mean you cannot use regular buggy wheels?

the hotshot at least looks a little like a 1:1, but I wish they'd do the wild one or fast attack buggies

Why the Hot Shot and not the Super Hot Shot?
Well, there were about 4, or 5? buggies based off of the hotshot. So I imagine they figure the one with the mos common parts. Kind of the frog rerelease and all the trucks and buggies based off it.

I think the Hotshot is one of the most sought after Tamiya kits. I mean $1000 for a NIB kit on eBay! I saw a poll somewhere too where people were voting for the Tamiya kit they wanted re-released and the Hotshot had more votes than the Bruiser:willy

I know an NIB Bruiser will fetch more $$$ but I think the Hotshot has a broader appeal. Only the MT crowd is into Bruisers...

Hotshot is for sure a fun buggy, but I would rather have a release of the super champ or sand scorcher any day.:bang

great business savy
they aleady have the molds, and retooling would be cheaper than a "new" design. Plus many guys who wanted said buggy or truck back in the 80'sas a kid can now afford it.
