Homemade Wheely King Chassis

This is what happens when you read all of those do it yourself posts. I'll start off saying I don't have the right tools to get a nice clean look so I went with chopped up, ugly but it is functional. It's a copy of the stock chassis with the lower section chopped off. The total hight is 1 3/4 lower and it gained 1 full inch of ground clearance. This one will be trial and error, the next one will be aluminum and the cuts will be cleaner...I hope. I used a plastic cutting board, dremel with cut off wheel, hand drill, and knife that was almost sharp and came out with this.

nothing wrong with that, just paint it black primer :tmb and throw some stickers at it.

Probably better too, will flex instead of bending in a big wreck.

Well I'm getting it all cleaned up for a nice black paint job right now. I'm undecided between flat black and hammered black, if it looks ok I might skip the aluminum job.

This set up works a lot better than the shock chassis, it slides over things instead of getting hung up like the stocker. It also handles speed pretty good! I'm a basher at heart so I have an old Speed Gems 17x1 that I stick in it every now and then, with the lower stance it can actually turn with a little speed.

A+ for creativity! Looks like it'll make a good basher chassis ( I'm a backyard basher at heart, too). If you copied that design using carbon fiber, you'd probably sell a ton :tmb. Wheely Kings rock!

Troy.

I thought about trying to sell then in aluminum but that would turn into work...I'm lazy and don't like to work LOL. I did find a nice fake carbon fiber (hard plastic) that I might give a try.
