Homemade front wheels & tires

Check out these tires and wheels my dad made for my new tractor. They are made of aluminum and solid rubber with bearings. They are about 2 5/8 tall & 5/8 wide. They still need to be sanded to remove the tool marks. We couldnt find any front tires that looked like they belong on a pulling tractor at the hobby shop. So he made these and the spindles too. We were thinking of making a couple extra pair and trying to sell them. This is the first test pair. We can put any size bearing that is needed. What do you think? What might they be worth?

Don't get your hopes up. A lot of the time people have no idea of the cost of materials and parts, not to mention the time it takes to machine something and the investment you had to make to buy the tools needed.

I get asked a lot to make parts, but when I give a reasonable quote (often just 10 Dollars per hour + materials) I get a reaction as if I'd just asked them for their life-savings. Most people are used to paying mass-produced products (often made in low-wages countries), not for one-off custom jobs.

Here's a pair of rims I made, because I didn't want to pay for the aluminum ones Tamiya offers:

Took me the best part of a day to make, but saved a couple of bucks in the end!

No I wasnt. Them are some nice wheels you made. Dad just made me a set of 2.2 wheels for the front of my pulling truck I am building. He is going to use the ones pictured here on his mini rod style puller he is building. I just got a peice of 6061 4" round to make two pair of rear beadlocks. We made one pair for a set of Jumbo Kongs for our twin engine puller and they worked great.
