Hey just looking for anyone who has had experience with Hobby Wing or even Turnigy esc's and motors and wonder what they think after owning them. Would you recomend them? Basically i'm looking for a couple combo's for two different vehicles. One is my TTR Clod and the other is a Jammin SCRT10 4x4. I do have experience with the Turnigy 80amp Trackstar Turbo esc. It is a censored esc. I got one of those about 6 months ago and put it in my W/K Bounty Hunter with a old Novak 13.5 and it has worked pretty good. I probly only have run a dozen or so packs thru it useing 5000 40c lipo's and that old Novak is no powerhouse so all in all it has worked good. Kind of weak brakes but i dont have the program box for the esc and sure that can be adjusted plus i want to play with the turbo function. Decent speed and power and both get just warm to the touch and this is with no fan so for around 40 bucks shipped for the esc i'm pleased to this point. Really considering the 1/10th Turnigy Trackstar waterproof 5700 esc combo's for my Clod off this experience. They are 53 bucks a piece so basically 2 systems for the price of one Castle SV3 system. The other truck is a Jammin scrt 10 and since im just going to be bashing it i want a 1/8th scale system for it and run it on 3cell. Ive seen acouple guys running around 2200kv systems on 3cell and basically getting great speed and crazy power with cool to the touch temps on all surfaces. Track/street/even through grass plus if i ever want to really break stuff 4-6cell capabilities;). Really considering the Castle Mamba Max Pro SC 2400 system for this and i know in the RC industry few can touch Castle's customer support so other than the price i cant see a down side plus even though its a uncensored system it is a censored esc and waterproof. The only thing is i could go with a HobbyWing SC8 wp. system and two of the Turnigy systems for about 50 more bucks. Ive seen quite a few HobbyWing ESC's at the onroad track and i guess these are the systems i really am curious about. They have been around for a bit and seem to be relatively popular. If there is a thread started already on these i'm sorry. Just this has really been rattleing around in my head recently and i have gotten great advice on this forum in the past.

I have run a couple different HW ESC's and they all have treated me very well. I highly recommend HW stuff!

I have the HW EZRun combo with the 9t motor in a stampede and the combo with the 13t motor in a Slash. They work very well for me and I think they are about perfect for the bashing I do.

Another vote here for HobbyWing. I've never tried the Turnigy ESC's they look like 1990's technology (atleast the ones I've seen in person) I run a HW 150a ESC in my Emaxx, can run it on 4s and 6s, never had as much as a hiccup with it.
