ok so these are $80.00 each and from what I am reading from other's that had hands on from both state these swamp the MMP and the sv2 is not even close.

I was windering if anyone here has any experiance of these on thier clods or wheely king.

right now I have two sv2's in mine but these are looking mighty tempting and seem to be a better yet cheaper alternative to castle.

I know castle is castle but I have a HW set in my mini-t and all I can say so far is it has been impressive and reliable sp far but I have not had alot of use but so far so good for sure.

1080A burst is crazy but dual?

I have a Brushless Hobbies 120a ESC in my TXT which is a Hobby Wing rebadge. It has been super good to me. It don't get hot, it's smooth on the throttle, very little cogging almost zero actually, and cheap. I'm happy with the Hobby Wing product.

I don't know anything about that one you posted except what I read on that website. The specs are outrageous and the price is low :D

However, I don't think in a Clod (with 2 of them) you'd EVER utilize it's potential. Things will break or you won't be able to get traction or keep the front wheels down etc. In a WK forget about running that kind of power.

Of course that's just my opinion and I'm always trying to maximize effectiveness and cost. If you want the most insane setup available go for it! I guess you could also just run 2s when you want to be sane and 4s or 6s when you want to be INSANE!

Here is the 120A I have in my TXT. http://www.brushlesshobbies.com/LT4-120A-Brushless-ESC-Sensorless-Sensored-with-USB-FlashProgrammer_p_113.html

The seller claims "continuous 120A, true 640 Burst for 10 seconds". You can see the vids of this ESC running a 4000kv motor in my TXT here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi62pDrV5hk.

I just came across them and was like dang that is a beast for cheap and then did a little searching to see what other say and they like these even better.

like you said though you would never get that power all used up in a clod but it is a nifty alternative for those looking for a cheap esc with mad power.

I would have went with two of those instead of the SV2's if I knew of them back when I bought them at like $70.00-$80.00 I think I paid but dont recall.

if I ever do a dessert buggy I will probably go for one of these or if I burn up or use up a sv2 I may give these a try out in a clod.

right now I have a MMP and a 3800KV in the huge WK and it moved out good but have to see how it does temp wise after a full run becuase if it run's hot I may swap it out for one of these beings it is probably at least around 12+LB's.

Just as an FYI - the Brushless Hobbies ESC is not a re-badged Hobbywing. The FETS in the BH ESC are upgraded over the HW ESC. There are also other differences. Stan from BH spec'd these and they are really good ESC's. I run 3 of them - one in my mod SCT and two in our 2wd buggies. Awesome product.

Also - Kenny, are you running the BH 120A or the BH LT4? The LT4 is a new model that replaced the original 120A. Both very good ESCs - I have a friend running the LT4 in his SCTE with a 4600kv Tenshock motor and it handles it just fine.

I only have experience with the regular HW 150A unit. It is a damn decent ESC, but, contrary to it's specs, it is not happy on 7.4V. Only good for 3 - 6 S use. Be careful that this isn't the same.

I have the original 120 in my TXT and I have a lt4 on the way for something else. I like thta the lt4 can run a fan with 3s instead of having to run the fan to the rx.

The duratrax esc, BH esc, and some other one look like the same unit.

That's cool that the BH units are beefed up. Hey man they ship from the USA, the seller actually responds to emails and in perfect English that makes sense, AND they're cheaper than the competition!

yeah fan's off the RX is no good nowaday's with these power hungry setup's becuase it is taking power away from it and the servo's and whatever else you have it outputting to.

pc fan's are 5-12V and some good one's can be had pretty cheap in any size off ebay.

so your good up to 3s with any of them really.

same for pc heatsink and RC heatsink just screw the fan in with a screw that threads down into the heatsink fin's tight and beings the heatsink fins are a softer metal they thread themselve's in there tight enough to make there own thread.

I have an EZRUN 150 in my EMaxx and it is a beast. Its call 1/5th scale for a reason. Here it is next to a MMP and 1/8th motor:

The SC10 70A ESCs work great in the Clods. I currently have 4 running 5250KV motors and they work great, strong BECs and at $45 each you can have 2 for less than one Castle ESC and they don't interfere with each other like the SV2s.

I have been looking at the ez-run stuff and HW. In the past i have always bought name brand stuff top of the line. But these days money so thin and so many projects and what not i have started looking for Not named brand. in other words i try to get the most out of my money. Infact i just bought some Gens lipos, A fly sky 3 channel 2.4 and a sky charger and all i can say is they are really nice. Really good $hit for half the money. Anyway back to what i was wanting to ask. whith these ezrun or HW do you have to run there motors or can i buy any motor?

The ESCs do not know or care what brand motor is hooked up to them as long as they are within the spec of what the ESC is rated for.
The EZRUNs are brushless only, they do not have a brushed mode like the Castles do.
