Hello, new guy with a wheelie king

I got a wheeling king for xmas (love my wife!!!) and decided to mod it right off the bat. I got the long wheelbase kit from rc4wd, aluminum chassis off of ebay and some goodies from STRC. Also got the emaxx center dogbones from tower hobbies and a 20 turn single motor to make it go a bit faster.

I think it looks Awsome :cool ! Fitting everything together was a little tricky, but with some of the left over bits and pieces of my old RC cars, I pulled it off. I just tested it in the basement and everything works well, it is faster with the 20 turn motor, but no wheelies due to the long wheel base :( I'm going to have to go for brushless setup if I want this thing to wheelie again....

Anyhow here are some pics if you are interested

The longer the wheel base the harder to lift the front end its all about leverage.
so I just installed a brushless traxxas velineon and can wheelie on demand. The problem is that when I break, it strips the gears on the spur. I think I need to use my dX 2 and try to cut brake by 50% or something...

If you didn't already upgrade the stock (crap) spur gear, I'd suggest doing so. Big tires+speed=torque load on the gears:ack. Maybe lower your brake efficiency (change the exponential settings) if you have that on your radio. Either way, hard braking will eventually trash the gears, somewhere in the truck. Some people go with Robinson Racing for the spur, give it a try.

:trk Happy WK'ing!

Troy.
