Door

Finally got this done. Crazy how what should be a very simple thing turns into Pandora's Box.... Figured when I started this it would take a day or so, months later I finally and a gazillion protoypes I have something that works and doesn't look to bad. It was really dificult to come up with a door that would lock, unlock, and swing freely but sealed back up corretly and did not leave a big silly gap in the graphics. The door frame is all hand built and soldered out of brass tube. It has actual tracks that slide back and forth and then the handle rotates into the down position to lock in the door. Anyway figured some guys might like to see an update to this one.

Easier to climb in and out....

Still can't believe this took as long as it did!

This was the hard part, getting the door to line up and lock in nice and tight to keep the body clean

Looking great bud! All these awesome Diggers are making me want one. October's truck of the month should be a Digger theme for Halloween. That way all the awesome Diggers can be collected together.

Ah, nothing gets by you my friend! I do have a set of particularly wicked tires that a master shaved down waiting to go on here. This door project took over my brain and kept me busy though. I'll get the tires changed out maybe tomorrow and throw up some more pics.

Thanks for all the kind words on the truck. It is defiantely one of my favorites.
