I appreciate the kind words! Good to know on the pictures, seems like I am always searching out a reference photo for some little oddball part of the truck. lol I am tinkering with some parts for this thing right now that I hope pan out cause they will look cool! Got to see if it will work out and not affect the performance of the truck.........stay tuned!

Dual Shocks

Well after well over a year of trying this and that I think I finally have come up with a shock setup for this thing. I have had several setups that worked well but just didn't match up scale wise as well as I wanted. This latest setup has the looks I am after and performance (after being completely reworked internally) seems to be acceptable. Truck is going outside today for some air time to really put them to the test! :emot151:

Thanks guys. The truck handled fairly well. Still need to tweak this new shock package some.

The shocks themselves are RC4WD 110mm internal spring scale shocks. The look was perfect, once I stripped the anodizing off the top caps and lower collars. The shocks themselves....well thats another story. They are supoosed to oilers but getting them to actually hold any has been an issue. I think I have the top caps finally were they will seal up nicely. I had to bore out a internal groove at the top of the threads that a very minature o-ring seats into as the cap is tightened all the way down. Bottom seal assembly still needs to be reworked with some different O-rings. I actually think it is going to require two different o-ring sizes and types to get them to hold oil there instead of generously applying all it all over the truck...ooow ahhhh look how shinny! Also need to dig thru the bins and see if I have a little stiffer springs to run in the rear ones.

The look of them is spot on what I was after and how I hoped the would turn out. Mounts came together pretty good but as I have said before, they have to perform or into the junk drawer with em!:emot156:

I'll keep you all posted as this story unfolds!

Thanks for checking in on it! It has a couple of little odds and ends. I modified one of the bodies so the door actually opens like the big truck. I have a new set of super killer shaved and back cut tires that I need to get changed out onto the rims. Also have started gathering various micro wire so I can start wiring up gauges and components on the scale motor. I'll post up some pics of the few odds and ends this weekend.

Nice. After seeing this truck i want to build one with that much detail except use clod axles so that way if something in the axle breaks i dont have to spend more then needed to either buy the correct part to keep the detail in it or make or modify parts to keep the detail in it but the rest of the truck i want to build with that much detail. I cant wait to see more pictures.
