Gravedigger XX (Updated 9/2/12)...

Figured Thanksgiving was a good day to post up one of the latest projects I am working on. This one will round out my personal stable of "Legends" being Bigfoot, Max D and now Dennis's current Digger truck. This one also is fairly special in that it was a surprise retirement from the Army present that my beautiful bride and John Boyer managed to spring on me, much thanks to each of them! As such it will probably be a slow work because I plan to try and detail this one out to a new level for me, we'll see how it goes.....I may like how it runs so much that I just run the wheels off it instead!
:burn

John really outdid himself on this frame though. The detail is amazing and with all the tube work that is there it is all spooky square and true! I am very grateful to him for what he did with this truck.

A little about the truck so far. It is currently a roller minus the electronics. I have the hidden floor for the esc's and receiver finished and in the truck and might actually look at initially mounting all that this weekend. I have a pair of Castle 5700 Sidewinders sitting on the bench for this truck. I like to work on thing as the mood strikes so I actually have a couple of bodies that are mostly complete. One is the "Ghost" version and the other is more of the standard body you see on this truck. I have the seat built and in the truck and it came out much nicer than the one in my Bigfoot truck. Rear axle is locked out running a ball diff. Mhesse did up the killer swaybars for me awhile back. The bodies are a combination of paint and vinyls.

First pic is of course to show the awesome frame John did;

And here are some of the various bodies I have done up for it;

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to the RCMT crew and all your families!!!

:shk Nice!! Another masterpiece in the works I see. That frame is really sweet Wade.

What a awesome present from your wife and John. You deserve it for your commitment to the service. Very cool. Will be watching this thread with a smile on my face.

Thanks for checking out the latest fleet addition guys!

What kind of shocks are those, Speaking of which ?
They are Hot Racing 120mm Dual Springs. I use these shock on all my frame trucks. Good blend of performance with somewhat scale appearance but every now and then you'll get a leaker.

Thanks Bari! I have actually been thinking hard on trying to make it up there this year. Would be nice to actually run some of these trucks somewhere other than my backyard "arena".

May huh... That would definately keep me moving forward on this truck! :)

I have had several people make this request so I am going to throw up "The Big 3" over in the Readers Rides section now.

Over the holidays I hope to finish a new body for the Bigfoot (since I tore the Tonneau in a thrash session :bang) and two new bodies to debut on my two non-tuber race chassis trucks! Pretty ambitious hopes so we'll have to see what I actually get done..:laugh
