Had a member suggest moving the 4 link frame mount locations, I found this has helped with frame twist and stability. Also note I have never bought an axle housing since I installed the Hesse braces.

Nice, and you probably won't buy anymore axle housings now lol. You would have to drop that truck off a building to break an axle housing with the Hesse braces on there.:tmb

Anyone know who has the Hesse Axle Braces in stock?? Outlaw is out. Thanks
I have never seen then IN STOCK. I've been looking since they were first offered. Everytime I visit the site none are available.
I even emailed outlaw twice without a response. I gave up.

Mike might be interested in knowing this...if he's partnered with a lame duck business partner maybe he should look elsewhere for a distributor.

You can get them from me direct if josh is not responding. I had wondered how it was going. These should be selling more than what I have seen. I also know outlawhobbies is a side business for josh and just like myself sometimes day to do life gets in the way far more than I would like. But if you have tried to get them from outlaw with no luck you can custom order them from me. It would be a few weeks before I can get to them but I could put a few sets on my to do list.

EDIT: I was not trying to say that the lack of sales was from Outlaw hobbies, I just saw all the response on the initial posts of these and thought that 10 sets would have been gone through pretty quickly. I was in no way trying to say it was anyones fault. I myself am very far behind so to get them from me is a couple of week wait at best. I have met Josh in person guys, he is a good/honest guy!!

Hesse Braces

Can the address and e-mail information be provided to buy them direct. Been waiting a while to find them. What's the cost plus shipping?
Thanks

I am working with Josh at Outlaw to get these back in stock soon. I'll keep you posted on what develops this week.

I may be doing these on my own or looking for a new vendor in the next few weeks.
I'm sorry for the delay on a response to this I have been sick. I am in week 2 of Mono so I have had very little energy to do much.

I see you also swapped in, some stronger aftermarket suspension links...
Im in the process of doing that too
I just put in some solid aluminum upper links, with heim joint rod ends, to go along with my Hesse lower links.
The upper links I put in, totally eliminated the forward/backward movement that the axles had been doing. :tmb

^ You have a pic or some more detail on those aluminuminuminum links? I recently went brushless and am getting the slop movement of the axles due to the ends being loose.

Well,
on my main(1st) truck, I have custom Hesse lower links, that have RC4WD 6/32 aluminum rod ends on the axle end of the link, and 6/32 RC4WD heim joint rod ends at the chassis end.

On the upper links, most recently I added RC4WD 2.87" aluminum upper links with M3 heim joint rod ends.

You will have to come up with some alternative for metal spacers to go between the heim joints at the pivot point on top of the axle, as well as for the pivot point at the inside lower chassis pivot point.

I will post an "underbelly" pic of my truck, this weekend, so you can see what I did.

The slop in the axles, like when the rear axle twists inward toward the ground on acceleration, due to loose stock rod ends, is totally gone on my truck now.

But I just ordered some new screws for mounting the upper links at the axle, because the aluminum upper links/heims are so strong I snapped one of those screws while driving the truck tonite.

The stronger aluminum links do make a noticeable improvement in speed and stability for the truck :tmb

On my second truck, I have another set of Hesse links on order. These will be 3 inches long instead of the stock 2.75 inch stock length.
However in the meantime while I wait for those to come in, I will be using a set of RC4WD 3.11 inch links with M3 heims, as substitutes till Mike has recouperated and is up to speed with his work.

Very nice looking truck, mine looked like that once !!!
I am now using links from the HPI Crawler conversion kit. I am finding that the stock GP links are breaking at the threads. They are one piece machined and the HPI have hardened threads that are threaded into the link. Works great however as you can see from the pictures I am know having problems with the threads pulling out of the plastic threads of the link ends. The JB weld works great however it's a bit sloppy. We were at the cottage and the kids were not too concerned on how it looked.
Cheers.

^ Thanks for the pics and info Brian! Where did you pic up the Hesse lower links and how much if you don't mind posting? If not I will contact Mike. Either way I need a set, the more I drive this brushless, the looser they get. I think I will be going with the same setup on the uppers too.

I got them direct from Mike Hesse. I honestly don't remember what he charged me for them, but I am having him make another set for my other truck.

I have to say though, that the HPI RS4 MT2 Rear shocks, are awesome. I have them on both my trucks. On my main truck, the one pictured above, I changed, and put the blue springs on with 60wt oil. I reverted back to a wheel/tire combo that I had used awhile back; B&H clod tires, stretched onto Imex diamond jumbo maxx wheels painted black. This truck is fassssst now wow. It doesn't wheely much anymore, tires stay mostly on the ground, and that translates to added speed:tmb
