BC, can I just what the heck is wrong with your keyboard? It seems like everything you type is one key off lol...

*offtopic I know but I had to comment finally on this, couldn't stand to hold it in any longer*

Ontopic, believe in Will. His knowledge is exceedingly terrific, and spot on. I know this just based on the research I've done myself. It's basically what Will said, pay the extra money and save yourself the self-inflicted aggrivation that comes when you blow a speedo~

Castle ESC's and the link to your PC are hands down the BEST setup going. Tekin has something similar, but more $$$

I rate the ESC's like this
Castle
Tekin
Hobbywing EZRun
speed passion almost even with Hobbywing
then Traxxas
then Novak
losi last because you never know what you'll get

Traxxas is the one though if you don't want to learn anything and don't care about adjustments and want plug and play.
maybe ill have to skip the ezrun and splurge for the sidewinder?

well, I am super happy with all my CC ESCs.. the easy programming on a PC is soooo nice imo. lots of tuning options and so easy to access + set them. Plus they perform great also..

Well I decided to go with the Traxxas waterproof VXL system. I chose it because it was fairly inexpensive and simple to use. So far I love it! It has a ton of torque. With the stock gearing the truck would do a backflip if I wasn't running the wheelie bar. I had the truck setup as a crawler but decided to convert it back to a monster truck for a while. It still has the crawler links on it to lengthen the wheelbase. So far the only thing I've broken is an axle shaft, but that was due to a second backflip attempt that didn't go as planned. The shaft could've just been stressed from all the abuse I've given the truck since I've had it. l also picked up the HPI aluminum shocks, painted the frame green, and slapped a Grave Digger body on it cause there's a special little girl's birthday coming up soon who recently discovered Monster Jam and her favorite truck is Digger. I'll try and get some pix and action shots up soon.

do they come with what you need for programming, or is it seperate?

ive got a 3000kv on its way from Bill that i need to power.
im kinda leaning towards the sidewinder, but the ezrun is really inexpensive.
im concerned that the brushless will be too much for my wk.
what does 3000kv kinda translate to in turns?

my take opinon of 3000kv kinda translate to in turns

the tork of a 15 to 20 turn --- the top speed of a 9 turn --- the CC sidewinder I linked too is just crazy fast ( the tork of a 12turn but the top speed of a 2 turn if they made sutch a thing )

li-po batterys help --- a brushless motor will have more puntch with a 40C whin compaired to a 15c battery

if I was rock cralling I would get a 5000muh 15C li-po the power would last all day but with out the punch to flip the truck over

but a 30C li-po in a slash will do wheelys of the tration is there

in doing more reading on this and other forums I will help your nurvs out

that 3000kv your getting from Bill will be assome in the WK

get a EZ-run or Castle ( if you have the money ) ESC with the programers

add a li-po batter with the furst run you will be hucked ( like that furst RC car you got whin you was 12 )

You have to buy the Caste Link pc connector, its relatively inexpensive, but really strange that it ISN'T included with their setups...beats the crap out of me why they don't.

It really depends on the manufacturer, for instance I just looked up Novak BL motor specs and they list 8.5 turns for a 5000kV motor, but for EZRUN systems 4000kV translates to a 8.5turn motor. It comes down to rpm's per volt, so multiply the kV rating times your voltage and voila, you can compare it to brushed motor rpm ratings at the same voltage ^_^
