Goat Power?

I called Novak last week. The GTB will not do reverse rotation. The havok does, but he could not tell me if the new Havok Pro or Kinetic will do reverse rotation.
Here is a new spin on this as well. They are now rating all the speedos based on 2s or 3s lipos.
If you want to do more than 6 cells nimh or nicd, then you have to get the 3s units. The 3s Havok will do up to 9 cells.

Once again I asked how many cells the new ones will do, and at that time he did not know. Since the products are still in pre production, he had no specifics on them yet.

I myself will go with 13.5 in my clods. Based on a clod's gear reduction and the power band of brushless being way different. This maybe the best option.

The newest goat will handle 3s. I would think that the 13.5 on 3s should have the speed you are looking for.

The hobby is going through a large change over, and the dust has yet to settle. Lipo and Brushless are taking over. The trasition is going to take a bit to get every thing set up. A 3s rating should be the standard norm for esc. And it is cool to see companys like Castle making 6s esc. Have you seen the new Goat 3s 13.5? It looks like a good Clod set up.

with a goat 3s esc, if you are using a 13.5t motor the max voltage you can use is a 2s which is 7.4v.

why only novak?
Castle and tekin both make great products, have you checked into a comparable setup from one of them?

There is also hobbywing. I personally have used some of their motors and esc's with great results.

In my opinion I think the novak stuff is over priced. And the quality is no better. Novak also has less tuning options than the 3 brands I mentioned.

I think the 13.5t on 7.4v will not have the punch that he is looking for.
I would have to agree with you on that.. Plus I think the topend would be more then I need. I am not lookin to race, just bash and run trails.

3s and a 18.5 should fuel my needs.

Ok, I seem to be the only one that likes them, but why not run Traxxs Veineon 3500 motors with Castle Sidewinder ESC's? You can pick up the Velineon's for $25-$35 on eBay.

I want to go with sensored. I already have a 17.5 Havok for stadium racing in my MF2 xxxt. I like the sensored more than sensorless. I can feel the difference in the trigger between the two types.

Let us know how it works out:tmb

Thats a killer setup that dosnt break the bank.

You really can feel the difference especially when racing or on a tight technical track where you have the car or truck from low speeds comming out of turns and having to work the throttle.

The sensored novaks hands down for silky smooth clean low speed throttle.

But if your wanting that raw horse power that will rip a glued tire right off the rim look for non sensored setup.

Also lets not forget to mention all that horse power for a fraction of the price when going sensorless compared to the Novak systems... for clod users or any big truck that must use a dual setup, its a factor to consider.
