After making my 1:6 scale F150 that some of you saw in my general discussion post I decided that I really enjoyed the larger scale. So I looked at my inventory and saw my poor neglected Clod sitting in the corner with a sort of home-brewed crawler chassis from years ago. I reckoned I could make something large with clod guts so I started shopping for a body and ended up with a cheap chinese knock-off of a GI Joe jeep. I decided to call the project General Almost because it's almost a scale rig, almost a basher, and almost a crawler.
.
I jammed the jeep body and some Nylint crawler tires onto my old clod guts and got this:
I'm not 100% happy with all of the suspension geometry yet but it's a runner and it's big and fun. It flexes a fair bit as well:
I still need to make a new bumper up front and paint the frame but you get the general (haha) idea. Let me know what you think. :willy
