First Solid-Axle MT

I've been involved with RC for over 30 years...but finally pulled the trigger today on my first solid axle MT...

I picked up a GP on EBay (dangerous, I know, but the price was too tempting to pass on)...

Hopefully it's in nice enough shape to allow me to fully take the plunge into this world after dipping my toe in the proverbial MT waters...

Always good to have another solid axle fan around. It's a slippery slope, they are addictive. You'll end up with a ton of them before you know it :)

I'm fully anticipating the slippery slope...

This kit will hopefully give me a taste..and not a sour one...

I'm somewhat concerned over the axle housings for the GP...and don't plan on throwing big bucks on a build based on this truck....(I'll put the big bucks into the next one :cool)

Well..my GP showed up.....

and it's missing the ESC....

and 1 upper and 1 lower link are bent threaded rod instead of the normal links...

A bit of rust on a couple ball links....but otherwise, superficially, not bad...

Time to start looking into putting some band-aids on the truck to determine if I want to dive into this build or move along to another...

One suggestion I might add and that is...
get yourself some axel braces if you intend in staying with the stock axels.

Haven't done anything with this build yet...

other projects have popped up that have potentially changed direction...

The GP may end up being sold off before I do anything with it...but a solid axle MT is still in my future....

GP Build has been put on temporary hold....

ended up getting my toes wet a little old-skool with an ESP Clodzilla 2...
