the Lingenfelter is nicer looking, looks more Pontiac than the almost cartoonish other one.

Plus in the T/A color it looks very much like my old 69 bird. :) The nose area is really much better looking on the Lingenfelter. The early birds, and the 69-72 era "A" bodied chassis also looked more along that line. They even went as far as to make vintage inspired side marker lights really giving it a retro feel. I was even surprised that they were able to make that nose and not have a suite because it looks so much like a 70 GTO.

Thanks for posting that Dom! Yep the nose screams classic pontiac T/A and of course the black looks great on there too. Would it have been too much to toss a modern era bird up on the hood? If Pontiac had not gone away this probably would have been close to reality.

Was watching a show some time ago and it had Burt Reynolds redoing the t/a they got a real body from a old one and put vette suspension I think on it and used a little updated bird on the hood but he wanted it pretty much like it was back in the day. Think they were gonna have a few to sell but maybe that fell through with Pontiac folding.
Used to have a t/a way back when wish I still had it :-(

That's YEAR ONE and they did make some ''turn key'' cars and the kit is still available. Not sure if they are still making turn key rides I don't know. From what I remember they do offer some vaiations, from 650 hp in it's ''stock' form on up over 800

Kit works on cars from 70 1/2 on up to 1981. Most common would be 79-81.

I was never a fan of the giant chicken on the hood, I liked it more reserved. I never owned an actual TransAm but owned a 69, and a 74 esprit. The 74 I owned had a suspension kit from Rancho and a small block chevy 327 as well as a lot of weight reduction done. I removed over 600 pounds all the changes from stock. Made a huge difference in handling.

The stock birds were heavy cars, swapping to a small block and using aluminum and fiberglass parts shaves weight. Take off weight, add a little HP and it really starts to wake up.

A friend had older bros and they took a liking to me so I was able to ride in some awesome cars. 55 shoebox, the 63 split, a 70 cuda' some coronets and camaros. Man, that was awesome the cars I've riden in.

That gets best link of the year award. :tmb:tmb:tmb

Sweet cars makes me wish I still had my Formula, but it had to go after my girls were born. No room for car seats.
