Picked up some Shoo Goo @ Walgreens on the way home today. Do you guys spread it around the whole bead or just a few drops around the bead? I just know Im taking the tires off at some point so the least permanent solutions that works will be best.
It's really not hard to take them off the rim when your ready. But if you want to start with just do a few spots around the wheel and let it dry and see how it does, if it's still coming off the bead then glue the entire bead
Shoe goo didn't stick to my destroyers.
You need to add strapping tape to the insides if you have a fast outdoor truck.
These tires swell up like pie plates compared to clod or usa-1 tires.
Got the tires back on today after using Shoo Goo and they held great for the pack I ran through them. Truck isnt super fast (1/8 Castle Brushless TXT-2), but has a lot of torque and tires are still good. We'll see how it holds up. I do love these tires though, huge improvement over the Clod tires in just about every way.
Looking at pictures of these tires (and my personal taste) I think they could have made the destroyers a tad skinnier and with a tad higher sidewall. I think they would have looked more scale. That said I have two sets on order.
I agree, they're a bit too wide and the sidewall is a bit short as far as looks go. Performance makes up for it though, they really are a great performing tire when compared to stock.
With a black bead lock these look pretty darn good. The black bead lock gives the look of more sidewall / smaller rim while retaining the performance aspect of a smaller sidewall. Very cool!
