F350

Hello, I just became a member on this forum and have a few questions. I need a 4 channel radio and it appears the futaba attack 4wd is no longer available. A few other guys on this forum were discussing the futaba 4yf 4 channel radio. I just want to make sure this will work before I purchase it.

For now, I will use a esc model teu-302bk but in the future, I would like to pick up the mfc-02. When this happens, do I still need the esc or does the mfc-02 have it built in?

Again, I want the correct radio so that I can use the mfc-02.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 4yf will work. And the mfc-02 does have a built in esc but it kills your motor choice. It has a limit right around 25 turn.

I'm a little new at this. I am limited with motors because of the esc in the mfc-02? What does the "25" represent? Finally, do you know 4YF Radio has the self neautral feature?

Thankd again!

The 25 represents the number of turns the motor has (this is basically a 'stock' motor).

The left stick on the 4YF is ratcheted, but I think there is a way to remove the ratchet spring.

Good luck! :tmb

I just opened the box for the F350 and was surprised to see how small the tires were! Will need to replace them soon.

Anyways, I will be running the stock motor for now. Need a battery(s). it appears we can only run a max of 7.2. What battery would you suggest to use? I do not plan to run the truck hard. Just around the house and yard.

With a 3000 mah I can get between 25-40 minutes of run time. With the mfu I am not sure how much faster it will wear the battery down. A 3000 is a good size battery that can be gotten cheap. Just don't get something that is bargain bin. Also I run a receiver pack so the only thing running on the big battery is the motor.

You brought up a good point. I was wondering where the MFC-02 got its power from. Am i to understand it gets it's power from the main battery or some kind of receiver pack? What are you using the receiver pack for? light?

Thanks for the help.

I don't have a mfu. But the receiver pack in mine powers the receiver, 3 servo's, and 19 led's. When I tried to run on just the large battery things kept glitching and acting strange.

I still have my original Blackfoot with a 3 step speed control. There is a small 2 wire connector coming off the speed controller which plugs into another connector and leads to the on/off switch. It continues from there to the receiver marked "batt". I remember I had to disconnect the small 2 wire connector from the speed controller to the switch. I then plugged in a battery pack that consisted of 4 double a batteries and that lead to the switch and onto the receiver. That makes sence. Those 4 batteries powered the receiver and both servos.

I needed to add that battery pack because without it, when the main battery became weak, I would suddenly lose full control of the truck.

i assume this is all possible with a esc? I just have to figure out how to wire it. Like you said, the main battery powers the motor only. Am I on the right track?

I already have the f350 and ball bearings. I am about to order the teu-302 esc, a couple of batteries and a radio. thanks again for the help.

You either cut the red wire or remover the metal end from the connector. If your only dealing with the esc wire I suggest removing the metal end then putting heat shrink over it. For the receiver battery you need a switch that you can plug the battery into, then plug the switch into the battery port on the receiver. I zip tied the battery to a chassis brace behind the transmission. Then used double sided tape to hold the switch to the chassis under the box.
