Last Week I ordered in some items through RPPhobby.com and the parcel arrived in Vancouver last Thursday and as it stands the box of goodies is still sitting waiting to be reviewed by customs. I've already sent a service ticket to Canadapost and received a fax in return stating that it's stuck in customs and that they have no control over that. So I sent a email to the Canadian Border Service Agency and they just gave me the complete government run down of why it's still there of which I never believed becoz those guys get over paid and realistically play around on the job behind closed doors.I'm at the point of getting a hold of the person who is charge at the Vancouver Airport. Canadian Border Agency has told me my parcel has been under review for three business days and now it's Friday morning and still nothing has been done I think it's time to privatize Canadian Customs. :mad:mad:mad:mad:mad

i hate customs. they have screwed with many things over the years and lately they got really bad when i keep buying original tamiya factory parts for my TL01/TA02 from Japan. it took 6 weeks to get a set of rare universals for the TA02.

i know they need to make sure everything is legal and sound coming into the US and keeping us safe is one big benefit but it seems like they take a month to review every little package that comes in.

hope you get it soon, i know how you feel:mad

Thanks.
Who knows... I may end up setting up account with Purolater. My father has a business account with them. More expensive but at least the items get here.

I have had the same issue until recently. Order always hit the border very quickly. And once Canada post gets it it is usually a fast trip to me. But Customs can be a PITA. I have had orders sit for a week in Customs and no idea why. The last two times when I ordered from RPP I chose the more expensive shipping and both times the package blew through Customs. The first one within 30 minutes. So I am wondering if the level of delivery service you choose determines how long Customs plays with your package.

Hope you get it soon! I hate waiting as well.

I was going to use the higher rate more expensive shipping method at RPP. But after I calculated it all out the total cost went sky high.

It all depends on what you are buying. Last two times my shipping options were $32 and $41. I felt the extra $9 was okay. Other time the difference is bigger. Then of course coming to Canada from the US you always get nailed Customs charges and on Ontario HST. Why are they charging tax on an item I did not buy in Canada? That always seems odd to me.

I agree with you 100%

it all depends of how much you add to your shopping cart. So being that I added the things I really wanted I controlled my shipping cost at the same time

This is how much it cost me.

Product Subtotal: $186.94
Tax: $0.00
Shipping & Handling: $53.13

Grand Total: $240.07

I'm very wise of myself in budgeting in keeping the cost down. The parcel was shipped USPS Priority Mail International

Anyhow I can breathe
a side of relief now as you can see here.

( 2012/04/13 12:57 International item released from Customs for processing by Canada Post)

I still think they should have more officers and better scanning techniques. But I'm very happy that I have enough guts to contact Canadian Border Service Agency about this matter.

Customs is annoying !! :( I'm waiting now patiently for stuff !!
Yeah they get over payed just to screw the dog. That's why I go after them regardless if I get a auto reponse back or not. At least the word gets spread around at the main central office and may raise a red flag. Besides If I dont do it nobody else will. I should get some canned dog food and put in a diaper and ship it out with no return address. Those poor boys be putting up with the smell.....mmmmm smells yummi.

Long as it does not raise the wrong kind of red flag.
No no I'm Away ahead of you there, I would never gotten nasty with them. Just ask questions like I did as to why it has not been reviewed yet and show my concern which I only hope would bring a little wake up call for them in showing we gotta provide better services to our customers that's what I'm referring too. (Dis-regard that red flag part. I was still a little upset) Aside from that I need to remember not to order anything before the long holiday weekends becoz items will get backed logged and pile up during those three to four day down time. On a second note my nitemare is over with. The parcel has been turned over to Canadapost for shipping so now I can soon get to work on my secret project that will be soon posted once the ball gets rolling.
