Can you run the Traxxas EVX 2 off of one single pack. Do you have to solder the battery leads together or can you leave one unplugged? Thanks Just bought one and cant get it to turn on.

Don't take this as gospel but I think you'll have to solder one of the two battery leads. I don't know if it matters which one but it might. I just did this with the HV 6.5 BL system (it had instructions on how to do it). These are different systems entirely but both were meant for dual battery applications. Maybe the EVX can be set up in the same fashion for one pack.

You have the blue EVX-2?

if ever, this is the mod you need to do in using single battery pack only:

http://www.myrcmt.com/bd/showthread.php?t=5668

That thread only gives you the idea on how to modify the EVX (orange and yellow type) to run on single battery pack.

Surprisingly. I have the new E-Maxx. The blue EVX-2 ALSO works on that mod. Tried it and it works.

Someone posted there that the yellow one also works. But you have to be careful since when you try to check which one to "short", it only gives a short twitch (not even for a sec).

On my EVX-2 (blue/waterproof), it is also the same. When one battery is connected and you turn it on. Nothing happens. Now when I change to the next battery plug, a very short and fast blip occured. I took note of that plug, made a jumper from my TRX connector and tried it actually on my E with one battery.

Did you experiment shorting batteries before you made this thread? or eversince you had the EVX, it is already not turning on even with 2 battery plugged in?

NOTE: read the last post on the link about the yellow EVX experience of randerson07.

I changed the plugs over and tried one pack and then tried duals but never could get it to turn on.

I am using the yellow EVX-2 on my TXT. With the stock cans it works okay on 1 battery. I used a new female deans connecter and soldered on a shorting lead to the 2 terminals on it with a bit of 2.5 sq. mm flex wire (god knows what it is in awg, but its the same size as the wire on the evx-2 and my 4200mah batteries) and heat shrunk em.

Plug the shorter onto 1 of the esc's battery connecters, plug a battery onto the other one, switch on your transmitter (for some reason this is important), make sure the throttle trim is neutral, then press and hold down the on button on the evx.

One of 2 things can happen - 1. It switches on, the steering servo twitches, the green light comes on, angels sing, champagne falls from the heavens, etc.

2. Nothing. at all. In this case, disconnect the battery, swap the shorting plug to the OTHER battery lead on the esc, reconnect the battery to the lead that was shorted last time, press and hold down the button. Provided your transmitter is on, the reciever is plugged in to the right place.... it will work. If not, could be a stuffed evx :ack

Good luck..
