Evx Runners Check In

Everyone who has had an EVX in their Clod--what motors did you use, how many cells, and did the ESC go up in smoke?

From what I've read and heard from people EVXs are a crapshoot. Some go up in smoke right away for no apparent reason and some are real workhorses.

What has your experience been?

Yeah, I suspect the Super Duty XR is better, "but let's NOT forget dude", that it costs $40 more... (super duty is quite expensive at $140).

Thanks!

EVX sucks, I burned mine in a jiffy. Still, a clod with multiplexxes and 14.4 volts runs pretty sweet!

I had one run 4 years solid in an E-maxx bashing regularly during most of the year, then one summer day it just stopped on me...completely dead. the next one seems to have gone fubar in a little under 6 months, and another in my second maxx seems to be suffering too after a similarly short time...both have messed up the throttle neutral position which seems to drift back and forth no matter how many times I reprogram them.... :banghead

personally I'm getting fed up with them, the one maxx will be getting brushless(prolly Novak), and the other will be either getting BL or a super duty XR depending on where the better deal is...(the XR is ?140 over here, Mtroniks do a sensorless BL truck system made for the maxx for a little under ?200)...

havent run any in a clod tho...sorry...

I've had an EVX in my TXT-1 for about 4 months and NO PROBLEMS at all. ( knock on wood ) sometime its how you run your truck too that hurts them. If you want a truck that go 40 mph then get a better ESC. My EVX is just fine for slow crawling, I have 2 Trinitt Monster Maxx motors w/ 8 tooth pinions running at 14.4 v. You can jump one batt connector and run it at 7.2 v if you really want it to last.
