LOL!
I've got 2 rubbermaid containers full of old RCCA mags in my garage.
I'll flip through them every now and then.
I've got a couple from the first year they started when they were quarterly.

-I bought the 3-pk. of RCCA Monster & Racing Trucks, It's great, now, every time the do a MT issue, it's just the stuff from that years' regular issues, kinda pointless to buy the "special" issue if you're a regular subscriber:bang

I've always wanted to see the issue with the Clod vs the USA-1. I remember the old Tower catalogs having a small clipping from the article, where the Clod & USA-1 was at top a hill side by side.

I didn't know there was another older chassis shoot out that had Sassy chassis involved. I have the Mod Clod shoot out but that issue was from back in 2000 I believe? and there isn't a Sassy chassis in there. Theres an ESP Z4, JPS Pro (Original Style), New Era tuber, and the Bennett IIR. The winner RCCA picked for the shoot out was the JPS chass. The pic of the JPS truck is also on the front cover.

Too bad we couldn't post some scans of the old stuff here cause I'd love to see whatever Clod related reviews & articles ya folks got in the much older years of RCCA. Kind of a bummer to that we can't order back issues from that far back. All the issues of RCCA I got is quite heavy and packed in a few different boxes in my storage with all my R/C stuff. I think it's over the weight of 3 NIB Clod kits. LOL.

One day I plan to dig up all the articles and write ups, along with whatever I really like from each mag and scan all of em and save em to my pc and up em to my p-bucket and then use all of the magz for more packing paper.

-if you pay $30 on RCCA's site, you can read EVERY ISSUE they ever did, from the first to now, including special issues---it's $30 per year, but probly worth it,(and you need to be a member on there anyway to view much of the site anyhow:bang)

that's one thing that airage has done that ticks me off - instead of getting all the articles in print now, they have moved half of the reviews to online, which your print subscription doesn't cover. now you have to pay twice to get the same amount of material - more of a reason to buy xrc!!!

is this the link here https://secure.rcstore.com/pcd/eServCart?iServ=MDY3QUo0NjYzMSZpUGFnZUlkPTg0NzA0JmlJbnZJZD0zMDE0NyZpU2t1TGlzdD0maVN1YlRlcm09MA== for $19.95? are you talking about the part where it says over 20+ years of RCCA Archives? if so do you know if it's fullsize prints that saveable to your pc? or is it bootleg pages tore out of the magz and scanned? how certain are you that it goes all the way back to the first issue of RCCA?

If it's $19.95 I may just join but really would like to know more because that 20+ years of archives is new to me. I see infact alot of new things that now comes with they're subscriptions...

They must have needed the room for the boat reviews they put in there now.
What's up with that? If I wanted to read about rc boats, I would go buy a rc boat magazine!

I couldn't help myself

Ok so I went to the link Breaker posted and joined. I figures $20 was worth it if I could go back and look at the old mags again. Well sure enough they go all the way back to Winter of 86'. It's pretty cool I haven't tried to download them yet but I'm sure you can. I'll try later and let you all know.

Hey ya'kno what folks I talked to AirAge and they told me you're able to download (and save to pc if you'd like) of EVERY RCCA issue from the very first mag. But yeah she told me it's the entire mag in pdf form. I think I'm gonna pop a 20 and subscribe and download all my dream come true issues. LOL.

Yep

Yeah it lets you download the whole mag as a pdf. I haven't done it to the new issue yet but I have downloaded 2 issues from 1986

-it's neat to look back at times before the MAXX was around, and when Losi, was "Team Losi", with Kinwald:)
I understand that one as i steal run for Losi and did back then as well and im grate frends with Brian but it is not even close to how it was back then!

Back in the early nineties, i wanted a Clod so bad after seeing it in the Mag at the local Hobby Shop. I already had Blackfoot that I was racing in a stock class against Traxxas Hawks and Losi T's lol. After a while, I traded some car stereo stuff for a stretched Sassy Chassis Clod and headed to the track. When I got there, this guy had a brand new USA-1 and no one else there had seen either one in person, so we did an "exhibition race" in between heats. It was hillarious. Man I miss those days. (I won btw, :)) It was awesome seeing those two big ol' trucks bouncing all over the track.

I got a couple of mags at my house but the rest of my collection is at my parents. I was flicking through an old RCCA that had the bruiser in it that was torched. Such a waste of a cool project.:bang

-that was Kevin H.'s truck. I too, thought that was a waste, I'm kinda surprised that RCCA would have wanted to put that pic in their mag, & poss. offend some old-skool truck fans.

I have a box in my closet with almost every issue of RCCA from '98-2002. My favorite issues were the 2wd Truck Shootout (stampede won that one by far) and also the Mod Clod Shootout. I keep those 2 in the nightstand and look at them pretty frequently. I took a break from the hobby for a few years, just bought a HPI Blitz in January and thanks to the 2wd Truck Shootout I'll be buying another 'Pede this week. The first couple pages of the issues were always Pro-line tires/bodies ads, Trinity motors, then Brian Kinwald/Losi.
