E-Maxx Upgrades For Pulling

Hey guys new to pulling and was wondering what things I might need to upgrade on my E-Maxx for pulling. I will be using stock motors. It has aluminum diffs that are shimmed and have 3mm screws in them. Should I go to a spool? It also has MIP cvd's all around and BestRC center cvd's. I have a 3 sets of tires.Chevron's, Swamp Dawgs, and 3.8's. Transmission is stock.

Thanks for any help.

go to the lowest gear to start. (smallest pinion)..back in the day we locked all stock diffs.... do not choose (tall) tires shorter will work better to keep the gear ratio lower (rollout)..... lock the rear suspension this truck is not built for pulling (pretty much no stock vehicle is) ....however I have seen people pull with it we are pulling nitros up here and I do not think they lock the rear suspension either.....as is squats that probably keeps the front end down on 4x4's

with smaller tires on dirt a pretty long time....(not really sure) but plastic gears on carpet stock pullers & super stock pullers did hold up and we were pulling 80 - 100 #...at the end i was boiling them in vineger....dying them used to strengthen or toughen them too.

care to elaborate a little on the boiling in vinegar and dying gears? it sounds very interesting(and smelly)but if it works im willing to do anything to avoid destroying and replacing gears

Back in the day we used to either dye the gears or boil them in water with vinegar and a little salt in it to raise the boiling temp a little....it made the gears harder i guess they at least seemed to last a little longer you have to keep stirring the gears you don't want them on the bottom of the pan....
