Driveshaft questions.

Lately my front center driveshafts on my wheely king has been popping out, this happened last weekend with all stock components. It seems to happen mostly when I go over jumps and it dips down and hits the front tires first when landing. I replaced the front driveshaft with a another HPI stock driveshaft. However this weekend I went back to the off road r/c track, this time I upgraded my battery from the stock NiMH to a LiPo and also changed the gearing to the stock highest gear. Now both my drive shafts, front and rear are popping out, not at the same time but they both eventually popped out. It seems to happen when its landing from jumps. I did notice that HPI offer a HD metal driveshaft (87609) one thing it does not mention if this is for the crawler king or for the stock wheelbase wheely king. Has anyone else gotten these and confirm if they work on a stock wheelbase wheely king?

throw some traxxas drives on there to length and your golden.

there is threads and stickys with the part numbers.

By reading some of the posts, It seems the Revo and t-maxx shaft are much longer than the stock wheel base on a wk, I just wanted to ask if anyone has had any trouble with cutting it down to size and if so, how much did you cut off?

there plastic and a dremel goes through them like butter.

you just cut to length for what you need there is no set length becuase we all have a different wheelbase/stretch

it your still stock just cut them like a 1/2" longer then stock and cut back as needed.

if you cut too much off then you need to buy another set.

revo traxxas maxx etc. there the same thing in the end.

Did swap out the drive shafts for t-maxx shafts. Didn't have much trouble with them but I did notice they are a clocked shaft, so I just have to find the right position to slide them into place. Other than that I had no trouble with them popping out anymore. Thanks!

not sure what you mean by clocked but it you undo the upper links they can be taken off and on with ease on some but if you do them and the shocks uppers together the whole axle will drop down.
