I use soda/beer cans and baking pans glued together. baking pans crush much easier than the cans though so I add some cans on top of them and a few below to keep them somewhat in shape.

next time I make some ill post pics.

Maybe those cheap foil baking pans you can get at the dollar store? They come in different sizes and could be painted different colors to look a little more like a line of old cars.
There's a Youtube video out there of a guy who made a car-shaped mold out of wood and formed the pans over them to make a car-like shape, spraypainted them, and they looked REALLY good. The only thing I'd change from his design is maybe sticking cans or something inside of them so they maintain their shape for a little bit longer, because it only took a few passes before they were squished flatter than a pancake. It is an excellent idea and I think maybe I'll make some when it starts getting warm again.

...Got me wanting to do this in my backyard. It's too small for fast RC racing but could bang some solid axle monster trucks around back there for sure!

I am half tempted to just sell off most of my fast stuff anyways and just focus on my monsters in the backyard...

I made those already by making my own wood mold. Did I put anything inside them to keep them from being flat like a pancake? the answer is (NO) because where is the fun in that if you put anything inside them, besides you can reshape them again using the mold. I strapped a few down on a sheet of cardboard with horse hair string and once they are fully crushed I just remove them and reshape them and tie them down again . I bought my pans at DollarTree...:)
Another idea has been floating in my head and thats making a van mold using the same technique.
