Oh yeah, I mentioned that I had acquired a couple of 8.4V batteries with the Titan motors in another post.
I then read in the GP manual that the stock ESC goes up to 8.4V. I figured this being the max voltage, it might be risky to run it at that voltage for a long time.
I did it anyways and wow.
That extra 1.2V makes a huge difference. I can't imagine what 14V would be like. (I know you brushless guys are thinking "How naive" but I haven't driven a brushless set up yet.)
The ESC got quite hot. I was doing a lot of less-than-full throttle driving with some breaks. It would still get hot to the point that I couldn't keep my hand on it.
Might this be a problem? If someone doesn't tell me to wait until I get a better ESC, I won't be able to stop. The extra power is addicting.
