First that is a way cool build you have done there. IF you could when you get a chance could you look in the manual and see if they give a part number for the body.

Nice. My family and I just moved out here this past March. We are South of the city in the Auburn/Kent area.

You're welcome. :)

They are closed for the 4th-of-July holiday. They are closed on all national holidays. They also close the store around New Years for inventory. Try them again on Monday. You can call them at (800) TAMIYA-A and place your order by phone.

Well hello there. We moved to Washington State from Southern New England Back in late February of this year. Drove all the way across America in doing so. Moving this far was a real pain.

You find a LHS yet?? This is the one I have been doing business with. http://covington.rc-hobbies.com/
Bought all the paint, masking tape, decals, miscellaneous hardware, as well as the radio box and antenna tube for the TXT-2 AGRIOS build there.

Jay, I know this thread is older but definitely worth a bump :) - what did you do to file down the steel idlers to fit? I want to do the same.

Thanks for checking out the build and all the kind words and compliments. I have not been on the forum much either lately... Sorry for the extreme delay in responding there BearFootfan.... just started making time and hobbying again myself...

Thanks for the question and the bump. :) I'll try and see if I can be of some help to ya...
The Traxxas part #3996X steel idler gears are 20T just like #3996 teflon gears that come standard in the 3906 E-Maxx transmission, but they are a bit too wide to install without them binding and rubbing on the inside of the transmission case. I used a dremel with a #426 1-1/4" Fiberglass Reinforced Cut-off Wheel and very carefully cut/ground the face on both sides of each idler gear until it was nearly flush with the bearing. Afterwards, I cleaned up my cuts using a drift file and some 60 grit, then 100 grit sandpaper laid on a flat surface to get that machined look.

Hopefully this post was helpful.
Respectfully, - Arco

Thanks for the info on the gears Jay. I am looking over the exploded view of the tranny and am counting more than (2) 6x12 individual bearings. Do you know how many go in or recall when you put it together? I'm about to order parts and am struggling figuring out how many to get.

This is a great build. Its one of the reasons I bought an Agrios for myself.
Nice. Thanks for checking out the thread. It was fun to build and customizing it was as rewarding any RC project I have completed in quite some time. :)

No problem. There is one in each gearbox half, plus two in first gear and two more in second gear for a total of (6) 6x12 ball bearings in the #3906 E-maxx transmission.
Part #5117 - Rubber sealed ball bearings (6x12x4) (2) indicates how many come in a package. It will take three packages of #5117 to complete the lower shaft assembly.
*Note* Don't forget the #3982 - Washer, teflon (6x8x0.6TW) that are used to shim the output shaft inside the gearbox.
