To the members of the NR/CTPA, our club CMR/CTPA has members that will be going to the world finials for the first time this year. We pulled on Friday, and went over some of the differences in rules, and want to try and clear up questions.

News from www.nrctpa.org

5/15/2010: Rules change...
1) Traxtor pulling tires will be legal in substitution of Clod sized tires in pulling classes. This includes the 2010 World championships.

Now the rules are not changed on the site, the members want to make sure that the tires they purchased (RC4WD Traxtor) will be legal in the clases that clod tires are allowed? The two main classes that they will be running in are the Pro Stock tractor on Carpet and Dirt!! And 24" Sportsman on Carpet!

To the NRCTPA members that will be doing tech inspections, and board members, please post if we can use these tires for sure??

Thanks for reading and your time!

Traxtor Tires

Thats what I was affraid of. Some of the member from CMR/CTPA bought tires to run them in the carpet classes because it stated "in substitution of Clod sized tires in pulling classes" I will let the members know that the RC4WD Traxtor tires are only allowed in the dirt pulling classes.

Thanks for letting me know!!

PS: Might be something to post in the news sections, so it is clear!

Thanks

Josh,
I think its in the book if your from MN you have to run High lift tires on the back of your pro stock tractor.lol But you might check with someone else on that.
You going to run that H.L in the shaft class?
Im still not sure if we will make it she just started a new job Monday and going to be hard to get off from work that soon...call in sick might work.

I looked back and we decided to use them for a substitute for all clod tires I do not remember specifying only dirt...it may have been discussed however we only said if you can use clods you can use these.....went back and looked at the ex board voting

PS....... the newsletter says "any class" that used these tires (CLOD tires)can use the traxtor tires so I guess they can also use them on carpet....I do not think they will make a difference though..... they just look cool....they are a lot softer but that works against you after a while we'll have to see....

the only ones that have uncut tires is pro stock tractor is that what we are talking about? (I guess) I have 2 pairs they are not moulded that sharp new regular tires are probably a lot sharper ....for years people run tires backwards and then at the worlds run the frontwords.... just sayin.... those are naturallly sharpened. I do see your point though...... I just dont think they will work as good as everyone thinks they will .....we wanted a choice where clod tires and kyosho tires are being phased out this is where this all comes from ........kyosho tires for all purposes are out of production? I guess clods are next? what are we going to do? I guess we could decide when they all are gone i guess.....good to hear the other side though.

If you want we can take this back to committee and discuss the "must run uncut tires in Pro stock tractor" exception and Traxtor tires......(if you must know this is the only reason I do not run this class) OK in fact I will....

Joe:

I hope this hasn't become a problem, that was not the point of all of this. I just know that many members of the CMRCTPA purchased tires looking at the news on the NRCTPA web sight, and I did not want them to be DQ'd when they got there.

On the other side, Kyosho tires are no longer in production. Clod tires from a good word from a Tamiya rep will no longer in production the end of 2011. Now, I hope that does not happen, the rep stated that sales of the clod and clod parts have drop off in the last two years, but look around, almost everyone has one, and used ones are for sale all the time. So there is not that many buyers out there any more.

With RC4WD, they are really stepping up in my mind on getting tires for the racers, and now they are working on some pulling tires as well for different classes.

All in all, when you take a Traxtor tire out with no rim, and take the foam out of it, its like holding a condom. Now with getting it set up right, it may or may not pull well. But I hope we can find out at this worlds!!

Thanks
