Some progress was made today by shaving down the front bumper to commadate the winch. A hole was also cut out today for the Hemi. I may end up making the hole bigger so I can drop it down farther. But I know myself I'm scared of that dremel becoz that freaking part that holds the bits hit's the body if you're on too much of a angel without even realizing it.

Hey there guys It's ClodMonster.
had a little situation with the laptop a few days ago so you're going have to excuse my new profile name until I get this sorted out.

Other than that I managed to get some retro fitting done today before the body gets painted. Once every part is fitted into place with holes made then I will remove them before the body gets painted. Roll bar was bolted onto the bed cover for now. Soon I will be getting some BIG BOSS fender flares. CPE Lift kit will also be installed very soon.

Side mirror was retro fitted.

Thanks :) I showed the wife today of what I've done so far and she suggested to me I should do this kind of work for a living. Build retros and sell them. But I dont think that will ever happen. I'm soon going into my third month on this project and I wanna get this done as soon as I can. Between getting sick early March and early April and the freaking crazy abnormal weather up here has been driving me nuts becoz I hate winter like a passion. And now more silly weather in Ontario with snow tomorrow. It's like HELLO!!! It's spose to be Spring, I wanna get out with these bad boys.

Those pipes coming out the fenders look super cool! Gonna be one sweet ride when she is all done. Pride of the fleet.

. Yeah it's a "BEAST" I can't wait to get the fender flares with tow shackle. I'm going with handle hold grips with bugshield also. Being that this truck was a Christmas gift from my parents in 1988 I'm going all out in fixing it up just to show my appreaciation. I intend to keep it for many more years. I've also installed a brand new Mechanical Speed Control for now, later I will get a ESC. Once those spare Clod parts get out for the 2012 SuperClod I will get the metal plated chrome rollbar. Or get one at RC4WD with operating light bar.

:) Thanks for all the compliments guys. Tomorrow I will pick up a few Tamiya rattle cans for the body. I installed almost everything just to see how it looks and help me better to decide of what paint color to go with. And I think I may end up sticking with white paint with a Canadian Flag theme that will have red pen stripping on the hood and roof and down the tail gate. BTW thanks for the Idea Spidubic. I'm going to put this on the tailgate or chassis>> (Pride Of The fleet)

I used a little bit of RustCheck body filler to fill in the scars from the Dremel. I wish Dremel would get their heads together in making a a better drill becoz the black metal housing that spins and holds the bits tight always hits your project if your not careful. I think Dremel needs to make longer bits so the main handheld is much farther from where you are working.

This Clod is looking fantastic. I believe it to be your best yet. The headers reminds me of Aces High. Now if only you could rig them to spit fire....
:D

Looks good! In your last photo, if you trim the couple of flash tabs on the body around the sunroof, it should sit up flush with the roof. Those two tabs are keeping it from fitting.

I can think of a lot of cool add-ons for that old-schooler too... http://www.crawfordperformanceengineering.com/index.php?cPath=5_115
Thanks Brett that WindSheild is coming back out anyways before the body gets painted. So yeah I have the truck sitting next to me and I see what you mean. That will get trimmed before the body gets painted white. I was out of town today and on the way back home I thought I stop into a hobby store to see the cost of Tamiya paints. And it was $8.78 before the 13% Canadian sales tax . I said Forget that!! Sure the colors are better and better paint quality. But I'm not going throw money away on a puny little can, besides I can get Tamiya rattle cans cheaper than that on this side of the border online. I also

spent enough today buying a XGames double ramp at ToysRUs with one mini ramp. At the end I stopped in at Walmart and bought White Gloss ColorPlace Paint for $2.62. It may not be 100% perfect gloss but I'm not going to be picky about it becoz the body will be white anyways with red pin strips on the hood and roof and down the tail gate. I dont know why I did not catch that with the sunroof becoz the Big,Bad&Bouncy was done with flash tabs perfectly removed last year.

On a side note I was able to pull off the front grill off of the old red body and sprayed oven cleaner on it and then whipe off of what I could and then prime it and then painted it black. I'm thinking the chevy bowltie will also be red if not white.

All the exterior parts including Window was removed today including the flush tabs on the sunroof before the body was prime and then spray painted white.

Only thing I could do today was install the window back in and apply chrome pin stripping. Paint is still tacky I need to wait four days to a week for the paint to fully cure before everything is installed back in. Front grill has been painted black with two white lines. Bowtie is also white., front signal lights on the grill are painted yellow.

Progress Made

I decided this morning to go ahead and install everything back on the body. This week coming I will go ahead and place my next order of scale items. I'm very happy with the tie rods that I have after being hand painted. This project has been dragging on that I just wanna get it done. I've been waiting two years just to get this truck to where it is now.
As of now I just can't stop gazing at it. It's a thing of beauty...:) I really hope you all enjoy these photos.. I'll post more on a later date.

Nice looking good...are you gonna paint the body or do you have sum decals for it?
Body has already went from the factory white to 100% pure white a few days ago. I used ColorPlace paint, I basically used the the whole can. On a second note I've been thinking for the past while of the vintage Clod Buster decal, but mainly it would only be the side door logo. The ownly concern I have about the decals is the seller reputation at ebay.

One outside photo taken today...

CPE Lift kit arrived today and is now installed. These dual Clod tires also gives it that little extra bit of a lift also. So yeah these Clod Imex Tires are slightly taller than the stock Clod Buster tires.

I think I may have to get another Clod body for my Chrome Clod. The lexan body is okay but does not compare to the hard shell Clod body.

I agree with you there. The paint on the MJ bodies seems to wear off which is caused from the body post rubbing against the body. Body washers sitting on the post dont help either I mean the body would rub against the washer then.
