Clod with rear motor issue

Question for you.
I just got a clod running speed gem motors, that are like new...
ESC is a super duty, radio gear is Traxxas Link 2.4.

Ran truck tonight on a 3000 6 cell, ran great but noticed
Now power to rear motor. Bench testing it last night I noticed it doing that
Every so often. There is no load on the truck when it does this.

Any ideas to help point me in the right direction.
Plans are to race this one, but I need to make sure it's dialed
In and ready to go.

Thanks for the help/advice guys.

Update,
I took rear motor out, kept it wired in.
Turned truck and radio on, same thing, front motor went, rear motor nothing.

However, if I helped it by turning the pinion gear on the motor it would go fine until I stopped.
Then it would need a push to get it to turn under it's own power.

I've heard of "Clod Stall" but as I said there is no load on it to cause the stall.

Thanks for the help as a front wheel drive clod is no fun

Did you look at the brushes and commutator of the rear motor? Sounds as though your comm has a "black spot" on it and needs to be cleaned/cut if you need to give it help to run. Or you may have a brush hanging up in its hood or might have a short one that needs replacement.

I'm with Jerry. Comm or a hung brush.
