Clod Restoration

Over the summer I bought a used stock clod for $70.00
Came w/ MCS, Futaba Receiver, body was fair, needed work.

Stripped the body, painted it a metallic maroon color, fixed the body with some puddy, looks good.

Steering is very sloppy and worn, will probably upgrade to either CPE kit, or just lock the rear steer out and put the servo on the front axle.

It runs and goes pretty well besides loose steering.

Here are the pictures as it sits this morning.

Future plans:

New chrome bumpers and roll bar w/ lights
Steering upgrade
ESC

But until then here she is:

Of course I do not have any of the full restoration, but a shot of the body after I stripped the paint.

And all painted up

As I contine with upgrades I will keep you posted

Looking very nice!! do you have any plans of fixing up the front and back bumper's? I have plans of my own in repainting the chrome wheels on my BullHead with Krylon chrome fusion paint.

I thought of just buying new replacements, but I might try to experiment w/ the Krylon Chrome Fusion paint you mentioned...be worth a try.

yeah I used Krylon paint on the SuperClodBuster that I just finished up last month with no issues.
As of now I'm just waiting for the winter season to come to a end so I can test it out...but will most likely test it out on the bench in January or February being that I'm working on a hauler trailer to go with this beast.

Upgrades stock style steering bell crank ( Like CPE or ESP), and steering rods with some proper ball links and a Hi torque servo and you'll be set. put bearings in the gearboxes and maybe a ball diff in the rear. try and hunt down some chrome trailing arms! Those would be a knock out on this truck!
