Clod Buster - The replica of 1987

Hello Clod fans!
I decide to write here about my most beloved RC car I ever have. The Clod was one of the "dream car" from my first time I met the RC car world in 1991. I live in Prague - Czech rep. so here in those days was absolutely impossible to get something like Tamiya car model at all. So after revolution in 1989 when I saw the Tamiya catalogue in 1991, that wa something like shine from the black sky, and I immediatelly bought it and spent days and days with walkman dived in this "bible"... So it's now auite long time, I had managed many car models, also built my completely own projects (including own geargoxes and own calculated and machined gears in these gearboxes) to all completely sold and just start to go to those feelings of that days I dreamed only... The Clod is for me now something really like realized child's dream. So, let me introduce my stock Clod, which should remain all this I wrote:

I start with Super Clod Buster, ordered in Germany, cause still here in Czech are not so much funs to this wonderfull US category. Here arrives the "treasure" with some extras, like black parts etc.:

I decide to make a good documentation, cause I love the Tamiya boxes at all :):

I start to build with nice feel in the start of summer 2015. Was nice day for me! :):

...and the moment I mount the HUGE wheel was great! :) I said just "IT'S SO BIG" :-D When you haven't long time any other car model, it is so! :)

I made also video of whole build process:

My aim was to make closest replica of Classic red Clod from 1987, I work as graphic designer, and just from some rough sticker scan found on net I made my own, completely I recreated manualy even the main image on the side and all fonts etc. in vector graphic format:

Here I try to aply on the unfinished body - just for fitting. Cause I didn't have even the right measure of stickers...:

And here are already finished stickers in 3 colour scheme (prepared for car foil printing and plotter cutting):

Some basic electronics:

And first try with still "working stickers" and unfinished body:

the video from first Clod's ride:

The paint of the body I made in my Defender, cause it was windy and little rainy, so 50% I made in back space of my beloved offroader :) :

Here is coloured body with my E-FLY mRC160 BIGFOOT 1:24 RC MTR and with one of my friction stompers :) Just for red similarity :) :

...and finished Clod with replica stickers:

...and some outdoor final photos:

I have made also some improvements on steering - let's see video:

and also put there the same original system switch for POWER/ECONOMY ride:

Here Clod got a lights and sound of idle Chevy V8 run :) (not controlled by RC, just sound for "show", cause for me all simulations are still not good enough I'd like to put there any...):

So, with Clod I realized one of quite rare solid axle RC monster truck model in east Europe. I wish to be here more popular as in US, cause it's fun! :)

Cheers! And thanks for watching. :)
..and sorry my english... thx. ;-)

Thank You all so much for nice comments. I love nearly all the legends from Tamiya from that time... :) Yes, I'm very happy with this machine. I only wish to be this category - here in Czech, more popular... It's nice to share, but none of modellers here have this interests... More common are modern overpowered monster trucks with independent suspension etc... But this classic is for me the most heart beating... :)
