At best it's a repackaged Clod. Since that's not something I'd buy I'm not really interested.

At worst it's some guy's stunt to get some hype around something he's organizing, so I really wouldn't care.

I'm sick and tired of these "wait for the announcement about the announcement". They treat us like little kids waiting for a video game when the truth is most kids can't afford what we do. If they want to do it right look at how Axial introduces a new product and then they'll learn how to create excitement.

I don't think Tamiya has the balls to do anything cutting edge anymore. They're content to milk decades old designs for all they're worth. I really wish I didn't feel this way but I do.

I am curious about the tire mold thing though. If it indeed was true, I would like to know if they're going to remake a new mold or possibly go another route(like maybe use Jugg tires).

Stated from the original RCCA thread:

"This isn't an official Tamiya release. It's an organization working with Tamiya.
They will post more info soon."

Hopefully you have more success working with Tamiya than we did. Any interest generated for solid axle trucks is fine with me though. Keeping the Clod in production would be nice, but there's so much aftermarket available not a whole lot of the stock truck is used anymore.

It's like the little kid who wants attention. It seems to be working since people are guessing. Maybe people should just ignore it.

must have posted as I was quoting :)
And I am with Brett on this, any promotion of solid axle trucks is good. And we really need the rims and tire production especially more than anything else.

I agree any attention and interest show to the Clod and solid axle monsters in general is welcome. Too bad Tamiya isn't responsible for this. I wonder if they (TAMIYA) is cooking up something for the 25th birthday of Klem Klubfoot

Guys heres what we can tell you.
1. We are not Tamiya but are working with them on our project(s). We cannot discuss any more details on this yet as they are still being worked out. As contracts become finalized more details will be announced. We dont want to give false information or false hope.
2. We also have found out that Rcmt is the place where we can get support for solid axle monster trucks. As of today we have decided all annoucements will be based from this site first but they will continue to be found in other places.

Your support has been realized and that is why the time has been dedicated to put towards this venture. We are busting at the seams waiting to pass this info so please be patient.

i hope you can help promote rcmt.net...it'd be nice to get more people on here and share ideas/builds/etc...

BUT, i hope the announcement isnt lame, and the rep of this place goes down the tubes...

I disagree, bad publicity is bad for the hobby, Tamiya's stunt a few months ago proved that. And this one may or may not turn out good but popping up on forums, being vague and letting everyone get worked up and not even having everything finalized is dangerous. Say things fall through with Tamiya, what happens then? I can't say it would be a good thing for us.......Clodapalooza should have gotten the deal done before saying anything regardless if this goes well or not. And like I said before I'm sick and tired of these games people play calling it promotion. If you have something to say, say it. If not, don't!

I say the more trucks we build, the more they will see the market for them. If we build them, they will come.

it's called under-promise over-deliver. What happens is people over-promise and under-deliver and that's what causes the pitchforks to come out.

I think you mis interpreted what they ment, any publicity is good, say the deal falls through, but axial, traxxas or hpi saw the interest in a re released clod, and see the disappointment among the group maybe it spurs them to make a new truck to appeal to us. I'll give clodoplazza a benefit of a doubt since he himself is not related with tamyia

Ok I'll join in on this.

My guess is that Cloda. is getting the ok from Tamiya to make reproduction Tamiya parts for their Monster trucks, Clod, TXT, Jugg, and so on? Maybe they are buying the molds for these parts from Tamiya?

just my guess.
