Charging packs with Deans using alligator clips?

I recently bought an E-Maxx that came with some packs that have Deans connections, but I don't have any Deans for my ICE charger.
I know that the best way would be to get some, but I'm out of state and unsure of LHS's.
I don't have enough time to order anything, and no soldering equipment.

I did bring the alligator clips that came with the ICE, but before I tried it, I thought it would be best to ask about it.

just make sure you don't short them together

you should also have some pigtail adaptor connectors on hand, you never know what you'll need. I do, and it has come in handy more than a few times

the ice's alligators have insulating covers, USE THEM I have had no issues using the clips on male deans, but have not tried to charge a battery which uses a female deans.

Good point.
I don't remember if the packs have the male or female end.

Thanks for the advice. I figured it would work, but I wasn't sure if the amount of contact would be an issue.
I'm still going to look into LHS's and see what's available.
Hopefully there's one not too far and they'll have what I need. Or be able to make some.

edit:
Yeah, the packs are female.
So I guess there's nothing to do about it, except get male ends for my ICE.

Battery packs are almost always female ends, that way you do not have exposed contacts. I have charged packs with alligator clips lots of times it works, but certainly not ideal.

I have a few ice chargers, before I switched them to deans I was using the alligator clips, they work fine.

I'm not real keen on the idea of jamming one side of the alligator clip into the female deans plug.
It makes sense that the battery connection is female so it doesn't accidentally discharge or short.

Hopefully I can find a hobby shop that will have wires for the ICE charger with deans, or be able to assemble some for me.
I don't have time to order anything online cuz I'm leaving here to go back to FL on Tuesday.

It would kinda suck to have wasted the time to have it sent here, instead of having the seller wait til this week to ship it and met it back in FL.
It's getting too late to call hobby shops, so I'll just have to find what's around and call tomorrow.

I use the aligator clips with no issues on my CE Turbo 35BL charger...I charge deans connectors, traxxas, and the standard molex or Tamiya's with no issues...Just am careful that they never touch.
