Can't Stand It!

Well, I can't stand it any longer...I've been Clod-less for less than a year and I had to get another one. Have a used stock Clod on the way, and this time I think I'm going to leave it stock for a while before I start modding it. Luckily I kept a lot of my Clod stuff so when I do decide to mod the truck it won't bite me in the wallet so hard.

It looks like stock Clods are in a bit of a resurgance right now. kjr2 - I love the looks of your stocker. Actually I blame that truck for re-sparking my interest ina Clod, particularly a stock one.

Hehe, they just keep pulling you back in! :p

I know myself all too well and how I have no resistance to Clods, so I've never really gotten out of them.

Clodbustaz 4 life!!!!!!!

Actually that flat black clod was my first stock chassis clod. I was amazed to see it's a lot of fun to bash a stocker around the yard and they look really really cool IMO. The proportions are just right to look like a 1:1 80s monster truck.

When you get yours post a pic!

Well, here she is. I forgot how crappy the stock steering set up is, but we've got it dialed in fairly well now. I've had the truck for a week and all I really want to do to it is bearings. I might install a locked rear diff for snowtime driving as well. After having a better chassis and 4 link set up it makes you realize how crappy these things handle stock, but that has been a big part of the fun. On our track there is this section with three humps in a row, kind of like rolling whoops where my 4 link truck would never leave the groud. This one bounces and hammers it's way through, and most of the time when it hits the third hump it does a huge slap wheelie and drags the bumper.

The paint scheme reminds me of an old, mid-80's monster truck called "Mopar Magic." It was purple with gold rims, back in the day of real steel bodies, KC lights, and dump truck leaf springs. <LOL>

Yep! Bouncing over the terrain is more fun then people think!

given that I had a jugg2 before a clod, I thought clods were the dark side? :rof

I like my stocker tho.... admit its not entirely stock but it uses the stock tub and links...

Well, that depends on whom you ask. In the Juggernaut forum, the guys there seemed to always think that the Clod Buster was The Dark Side. I don't know why that was considering that the Clod Buster owners here never considered the Juggernaut as a symbol of evil.

Over the years, I've always considered the non-Tamiya trucks as The Dark Side. In particular, the E-Maxx and the USA-1 were the axis of evil in my book. I tend to keep the brand loyalty thing going when discussing this stuff.

I guess that the Juggernaut guys aren't too brand loyal. Many of the Juggernaut guys were fairly new to the R/C monster truck scene and had arrived when the Juggernaut did, so that might explain it. Very few of them were here during the hey-day of the Clod/USA-1 debates. Well...I should say the old Juggernaut guys since most of them aren't around any more and I guess have given up the hobby.

This is all in good fun though and not to be taken seriously...at least not when I'm talking about it. :)

yeah it was never a serious thing, a couple of years ago when we had me, Jugg2driver, Grinch Juggster etc... running around the jugg forum most topics descended into sillyness very quickly...

I dont really go in for brand loyalty as such, but Tamiya keep makin the models I want to buy... well except for the E-maxx which I have 2 of...

Hey, I'm one of the old Jugg guys :rof I bought the orignal, and then got the Care Kit at no cost from Big T. I had a USA-1 and a Clod before that purchase, so I was in all the forums detesting all opposers. A lot of Juggheads left due to maintainence issues, and yes the speed of the E. I miss those flame wars :p

well I've never really had a USA-1, and I wouldnt really want to now... I can scarcely find parts for current kyosho's nevermind old ones...

plus the E-maxx cant be truly compared to the jugg/TXT-1 as the Tamiyas will end up costing way more for the same performance. so flame wars over that end pretty quickly...
