Hey, I didn't build that thing, and don't sell them.
I wasn't much defending it back then either, go look up my posts.
I just remebered a time when it had a following.
And I just spent 15 minutes reading a bunch of old positive quotes about it then, that aren't now= from the release thread.

If it is dead, it's preaching to the choir to bring it up..:p

Hey I'm happy to be able to have the means to purchase one, I'm sure I'll have fun with it, I look forward to building it and putting my own personal touches to it.

You will enjoy it! Despite a few short comings out of the box it is my favourite truck.

Honestly the biggest flop and disappointment to me was the Kyosho Double Dare. I bought one of them when they first came out, it was a pain to build and then it sucked driving it, always rolled over. Obviously I was younger then, but that one still sticks in my mind today.

Because I think the stock TXT-2 body is so big I thought about recreating the colour scheme and stickers on a HPI 1/12 body or maybe even one of the Proline truck bodies. If you do get a kit, can you weigh the steel side plates for me (I can't be bothered stripping mine down!). I would be interested to know the how much they weigh compared to some custom polycarbonate side plates.

This thread surprises me. I got an Agrios and I like it alot. Been running a Hobbyking 10.5 brushless 540 in it. Ive honestly been surprised that none of the plastic has actually cracked or gears stripped. I put a set of clod wheels and tires on it. Like I said. Ive been very happy with it.

It's what two of our local hobby shops owners have been saying since around 2007, but I guess it's not the case then? I guess Tamiya USA sucks all on it's own then.....
Well, I am sorry to hear that you have been miss-informed. But mostly, sorry to hear your feelings about Tamiya America, Inc. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so thank you for that. :emot149:

Truth is Joe, I have written countless emails to Tamiya USA about TXT parts, when I was heavily into Tamiya stuff. I was once even told by your own CS rep to look on eBay for the part I needed(for a truck that was still in production). I've even traded emails with you about this very subject too. I have been recommending Jason's Store on eBay(he's in Japan) for years now because he was the only place that we could get TXT parts. Sorry but none of this should be news to you, but if it is it just proves my point about Tamiya USA and Tamiya in general. Don't worry though I gave up on the company when the TXT-2 came out.

Well if you have written "Countless" emails you would know that Tamiya America, inc. does not produce anything. We are an agent of Tamiya and distribute Tamiya products. We can only stock and sell parts that we are able to purchase. I am sorry you had so many issues, I truly hope you have better luck in your current and future purchases and support needs.

Best Regards,

Joe

That's my point. Tamiya was obviously still producing the parts, since Jason's Store was able to get it, but Tamiya AMERICA wasn't stocking any of it. Everyone here has been getting TXT rims from Jason's Store for years because you guys didn't stock it. And you can't say there wasn't a demand for it that guy was selling out 40-50 sets at a time, time after time after time that he relisted them.

Again, we can stock what is available to us for us to order. if we do not stock it, then it is not available to order from Tamiya, Japan. if you find something from someone else, they they could have broke up a kit to get the parts, we see that alot from online e-tailers. Think of it buy a kit for $200 and part it out for over $500, if someone wants to take the time for that, there is a business for it.

Joe

That's not the case with Jason'sSotre, he's not a boneyard, he orders from Tamiya Japan. Myself and others have asked Jason to order specific part numbers for TXT parts that have been listed as discontinued on Tamiya America's site for years and he gets them. For me it was the TXT upper axle bevel gears and diff housing(I contacted you here personally about the diff housings). But the TXT rims alone proves the point as he's sold hundreds of sets but he only lists a few sets of tires at any given time.

Sorry I do not know Jason, nor can comment from whom or how he purchases. I only have a screen in front of me that tells me what I have, what we can get from Tamiya Japan. I find it very curious that you are telling me that someone with no relationship to Tamiya can get parts that we can't when we are OWNED by Tamiya Inc. Sounds suspicious to me, but again I can not comment as I do not know Jason. I guess it would be like you being able to buy parts from Tamiyausa.com or by calling in through customer service, but I being an employee could not get parts. Makes no sense, Tamiya is around to sell things, not to selling things to some people, but not their own company.

Again all I know are the facts, as I can only prove what I have in front of me. I have only been here since 2000, so what do I know? LOL

Best Regards,

Joe

I guess, I did not know Tamiya made electric guitars as well. Got to love the internet and the things you find.
