Hey guys, I really hate the stock plastic drive hex's on the rusty, is there anywhere I can get a set of alum ones, maybe clamp style?

cheers

Tamiya has nice clamp ones, as does Yokomo.

Sometimes the pladtic cracks or wears as you are bashing and can spin or warp the plastic wheels.

Aluminum hexes typically prevent this unless you bind a wheel and stay on power.

my experiance

Proline wheels spin the hex very easily.

See, I don't run pro-line wheels on my stampede. That's probably why I don't have this problem.
I've run RPM's and they've been great. No issues, and they're tough enough for my driving. (I have shot my rustler with RPM talonz wheels off of my roof, landing right on the corner of the wheel. I thought for sure I was done - nope. They bounced right back and ran until the day I sold the truck. I was very impressed.)

I am currently running stockers on my stampede. Light and once you boil them, they hold together well.

I have some tamiya hex's, however, the rusty and pede need a 5mm hole in the centre, most hex's are 4mm :( There is a traxxas item available but its not a clamp or captured pin type, guess i'll have to hit up one of my machinist buddies.

Luckily I was raised in a metric country so I dont need that LOL. I did try drilling an old one out but is very difficult to get it centre when you dont have a press. I am trying the traxxas 4tec items but i dont think theyre gonna work with RPM rims, not enuff thread showing.
