if you didnt get it quiet yet make sure the pinion is on the shaft correctly. I put motors in my truck and i couldnt find out y it sounded so bad but it was becuase the pinion was on a little crooked

Looked into that already, but thanks for the heads up :tmb . The 9th pinions do sit out a bit on the shaft, but they run true. Took a few more pics tonight, so here they are.

5.5" ground clearance with slightly trimmed body. Might do a bit more trimming yet.

And a couple articulation shots. Doing pretty well for not having any links.

More to come as parts and weather permit (it's friggin' snowing:bang :bang ).

Dont cut the bottom of the body anymore fold it in so it acts as a kind of skidplate and wont let rocks and dirt get up inside the body as easy.Plus you now must have atleast a 4 inch tall body and it must be atleast 70% left from stock.

Thanks for the heads up. :tmb . I've only cut off about 3/4 of an inch so far, so I should still be ok.

It's a little messy up front where all the electronics are, but definitely made things alot cleaner looking by doing it that way. Started a write up on the other truck, while I'm waiting for the reversing harness to come in.

jagg - with gearing that low and those 55t motors, guys have been getting away with running 8 AA batteries. The modern 2500mAh rechargables with a stick chassis. Just an idea if you can't work out the knuckle-pack or the in-line 6 cell...

Just have a standard flat pack for now. Soon as I get the bugs out, I'll figure out what to do for batteries.

Figured while I was taking pics of the 72 Chevy, that I'd get a few more of this one too. Most of the wiring for now is a bit of a mess. When the rest of the parts are in, I'll be able to clean it up more. The cool thing that you can't see is that the servo regulator lights up blue when turned on. Looks like neon when the lights are off.:tmb

I also moved the rear servo behind the mount bracket, like on the front to help with some clearance issues.

Lookin good. I like the Novak sticker on the chassis :) How is the Rx attached? Double stick tape?

A freind of mine works for 3M. He was able to get me a 50ft roll of automotive body moulding tape. Figured if it will hold them on, then a small RX sould be no problem. Used the same on the ESC also. Just had to be careful putting it on. That stuff is thin, but really adhesive.:tong

I managed to pick up some flat lead stick on weights for the braces tonight. Going to wait until later to see how much to use, and where to put it for optimum balance.:willy

Finally got the reversing Y-harness for the steering, but sadly not going to get it installed tonight :bang :bang . The other down fall is that I'll have to test it out in the house. There's too much snow on the ground to get any traction.:( :(

The only productive thing I got done tonight was add a few stickers. Well on this truck that is!

Nope, rcpuller did those up for me a while ago(thanks again Jeff). That was my last silver one that size too. So the new ones that Will's sending out, are just in time. Good news though, the servo reverser is in and works great. Good thing I ordered 2, already thinking of another build :willy :willy . Still having the noisy motor issue though. Going to try pulling them out and trying an open run again. Really hope that works, the sound is getting a little frustrating :bang .

More good news, is that some of the snow has melted. So maybe if the weather holds out, I might get some trial pics this weekend.
