Brushless UE Lightning Project

Got my new Turnigy LiFe packs today. I wanted to go with these packs because for the no fire aspect on this truck! DO NOT want this thing burnt to a crisp because of some LiPo malfunction!
Also been dying to test one of these packs in one of my Race Clods to see what kind of laps I can lay down with one.

Pics! Enjoy!!

Got the Goo Gone out and took the labels off so I could have the wires on the same side of the chassis for symmetrical purposes.....hehe :p

Got the Deans installed :

Into the chassis, going to have to have a slight piece of foam under them to keep them from moving around. I had to install some spacers under the cradle posts to get them up far enough to secure with the clip. I used some of the stand offs you get with a set of SuperShocks and took a Black Sharpie to em! But they fit great.

Put a Dace anodize Servo Clamp on the top of the servo case to harness the wire up. This Robot Servo had a threaded mount on top of the case so it was a perfect install.

Time to see how much she weighs...

Next is to get a Tekin Hotwire so I can program the ESC and test it out! Thanks everybody for following my build thread!

I had not updated this thread in a while. So if you are reading this and you made it through all the recent updates thanks for stopping by to check out my EMaxx. It was the single most interesting, exciting and beautiful build I have ever done.

Thanks Nick for the good words! I really enjoyed building this truck. The colors you can get via anodizing is just awesome.

That is one of the slickest looking trucks I have ever seen, great job! The finish is unique from anything I have seen

Thanks for the kind words on the EMaxx. I love anodizing, it really brings a lot more to the plate on these aluminum rigs. I got another truck out getting anodized right now...haha I have a bad addiction to these trucks.

I wanna see that thing rip! Post a vid! You don't anodize, for a small fee do you?

When racing resumes I will have video, until then it is not leaving the showcase. ;-)

I do not anodize myself. I use independent companies. Mr. Hesse is doing a truck for me at this moment. That will be posted once all is ready to build.

The Lightning made Radio Control Car Action magazine's Readers Ride of the Month! I don't know how long it has been since a UE truck has been in the Readers Rides but I do remember in the Maxx's popular days there was quite a few modified trucks in that section. Usually one every month.

I am sooo pumped about it making a national magazine. Very cool ! September 2012 issue. I have been reading this magazine since the late 80's when it started and have always enjoyed that section and dreamed of one day one of my rigs making it in there.

I just saw your BAD *** ride in the new RC CAR ACTION and was headed here to let everyone know but I was beat to it! Lol! Congrats! As I said before if it comes from your work bench it is always top notch!

Just joined RCMT as you suggested, and what is the first I head in to :)

I never get tired of looking at this awesome build. Don't think anybody will ever beat this build.
