BIG basher: Clod w/ Kongs (test run: page 4)

yeah when I had my 40 series Mud-Slingers aside of the Kongs and on some Clod axles I had laying around, things just didn't look all that good. For a scaler the tall narrow 40's is awesome, but for the person who wants a more of an MT type style truck they just don't do the job, and for the other wider 40's there a bit too small in diameter that it gives the Clod that "Truggy" feel to it which is just awful!

Hoping the losi lst tires would be a decent match but even those are a bit smaller. I tried emailing rc4wd about if they might look at making a tad smaller sized kong tire but as usual no reply from them either...anyrate I have bigger issues to fix before I can worry about tires.
Wont hijack joes thread anymore :laugh

:laugh its fine with me.

i was even thinking of the 40 series moab xl's, but i didnt like the narrowness either.
i think i might throw on some clod wideners, then i can run my stockers, bajas, or my giant tracks.

no no, no hijacking here, Joe is in on new tires as well. :tong Anywho I talked to Mike and my question was as I mentioned to you. Just how much would one have to purchase at very minimum to have a new tire put into production. Well I guess that was over Mike's head being the answer was that...lets just say not possible. So yeah I then looked else where and what came to mind was BRP (Bishop Racing Products) and he told me just for a mold we would be looking at about 15 grand. So that killed everything right then and there. BUT! when I spoke to em about the tire size I was looking for he did say he had some large rear Dragster/Rail tires. They are 9" and 4" wide, and he told me he could always bring it down to whatever size I needed that was smaller than 9". All this was making me all so hype till I found out that the tire is solid foam glued onto a rim, then what he calls (Cap'd) with rubber on the outside. So in the end you got a giant foam slick with rubber only on the outside and foam in the middle of the rim and rubber (ofcourse no rubber sidewall as the tire isn't completely enclosed being it's just solid foam wrapped with rubber)

Guess the best were gonna get is these
Monster Size Mud Slingers

Outer Diameter: 6.73"/171mm
Width: 4.37"/111mm

Clod tire
Inside Diameter: 2.6"
Outside Diameter: 6.25"
Width: 4-1/4"

Really like the look of mine now but the tires are obviously stressing parts..now that I got new set of jumbo kongs lol.

I saw a 1/8th scale Gravedigger on kongs, running around a freestyle course, on youtube, and it seemed to handle them just fine.

Pretty sure weight is the issue here, im half thinking about going back to stock cases and metal tubes like I ran for some time before the kongs tho so thats where im not sure if the stock cases could take the load of those tires but the integy cases are very heavy and would shave some fat for sure??

I'm just guessing, but perhaps the kongs would work better if they were designed to go on a larger diameter wheel ?

the kongs would work better if they were designed to be round.
