Best thing about RC...

How 'bout one of these threads too :tmb

One of the best things in RC is to finally become competitive in a class after working at it for a long time. I also love assembling kits.

I noticed in the other thread that some of you have problems with your LHS.

I have what I believe is the best LHS in the country!
The HobbyTown HobbyPLEX in Omaha.

They have carpet racing, oval racing, offroad racing (soon to be enclosed and run year round) and rock crawling (indoors and out). They will get in anything that you ask for. When I started racing, I was running a Sprint 2. They didn't stock parts for it when I started, but they used my broken parts as a list of what they should stock. The parts are now hanging on the wall. They ask for our opinions about new items that they should stock. They also have great prices. They are often cheaper than ordering online.

A lot of great things, but i think the best is the friends i made in perosn and online...in fact, its more like family than friends...Just everyone willing to help you fix a problem or loan you a part, even if they're your direct competitor...

I think the best thing is the entire experience. From running the vehicle to building a new one. Even the day to day maintenance is fun and can teach a lot of skills.

They are quite simply THEE best toys ever, and they work with other toys. You can put G.I. Joe and He-Man action figures in them. You can make static models or Barbie cars into r/c. Your kids and other kids will think you're the coolest grown-up around. You can get tanks(my favorite vehicles) in r/c. You can put LED's in them. You can make them into robots. The best thing of all is there are SOOOOOOO many to choose from. From buggies to monster trucks, to sand rails, tanks, planes, helicopters, submarines, boats, dirt bikes, hovercrafts, drift cars, tractor trucks, YOU NAME IT!!

I absolutely love building models. Always have and always will. More accomplishment in seeing it finished (as if they ever are) than I ever will in racing or bashing it.

Lately my views have changed on what I feel is the best part of R/C.

I love to see the look on my nephew's face when we get to run his truck. It lights up with so much excitement that it reminds me what it was like for me over 20 years ago.............

I love it because I get to play with my toys and enjoy it with my kids. I think seeing Zane's face when he wins a race is about the best feeling I have had while enjoying a hobby. Also making the friends I have now, best dang people out there right here in our hobby. Trying very hard to make sure everybody else can have a good time and enjoy what we do and have fun. :tmb

The best thing for me is to be able to spend time with my nephew and my brother in law......and in some events just about the whole family comes.....I like spending time with the family.....that is what is important to me.

I love the fact that you can have any car you've ever desired and drive it. You can have a garage full of hot rods, race cars, monster trucks, whatever you want. You can buy a bunch of crappy old RC cars online and build them into something spectacular. Every one of your R/C creations can look and perform exactly how you want it so that no other R/C out there will be just like it. I love how you can combine mechanical knowledge with creativity and artistic skills to make something awesome.

This hobby has brought alot of people into my life who I consider best friends and continues to grant me the chance to interact with alot of great people. Wrenching and customizing will always be my passion but IMO the people are the best.
