so which way do you mount your chassis? original wheely king style in the rear or the front placement of the crawler king?

here are my list of trucks that i have owned/sold which used each style:
1. Capt's Curse - WK style
2. WMS truck - CK style
3. stocker(sold) - WK style
4. orange chebby(sold) - WK style
5. 30 rack truck(sold) - WK style
6. jeep crawler(sold) - CK style
7. new FJ crawler(in progress) - CK style

anyone else?

I can't recall the exact number of WK's I've owned but the breakdown was like this - if they were racers the battery was up front. If they were bashers the battery was in the back. I think it was something like 4 front 3 rear,

I had my grave digger I got from bill with the battery in the back.
I had my grinder I got from jkracing that had the battery up front, but I moved it to the rear. I only bashed it in the yard and driveway and I liked how it drove better with it in the back. More wheelies etc.

I view WK battery placement like I view mullets - business in the front, party in the back.

Spring selection is key in getting them to fly and handle correct. Because all the weight on the chassis is centralized in the front the front springs and oil need to be heavy. If not the suspension will pack on the face of a jump and make the back end kick.

Conversely the back needs to be very soft to get weight transfer when accelerating. I ran CK springs (the lightest spings I could find) and light oil in the back. This helped a ton.

Not sure on the front spring rate but I know I was running 60 weight oil.
